another game where we're down at halftime, and we come back with a rally... The whole zone defense....etc.

best coach in the game.

I think a very strong arguement could be made for that.

We shouldn't have let them get that huge lead in the first place.
Some of our rookies should've played a bit.
Pavlovic shouldn't even be allowed in shootarounds.
Rondo shouldn't play 40+ mins.
We should have consistent and efficient offensive sets, instead of relying too much on Rondo or Allen (and Pierce) to create.

Doc is a good coach, in terms of relating to the players... but he is NOT.A.GOOD.BENCH.TACTICIAN!

Sorry but that's just my opinion.. I thought you were being sarcastic..

  • Rondo = Good
he's certainly good at making adjustments in game.

not thrilled with his ability to prepare the team for the start of the game, though, or his decisions with regard to starting lineups.

seemed like it took doc two thirds of the game to figure out the best lineup to put on the floor.  by then, we were fighting our way back from a huge deficit.

He is very good at doing stuff like out of bounds plays and being a strategist in general.

I kind of agree with you there. Its seriously hard to earn his trust.

Last year Big Baby was struggling like crazy and we had Troy Murphy and Krstic on the bench.

Today he went with Avery Bradley rather than going with E'Twaun Moore when Moore clearly outplayed him.

I think if not for the incredibly bad calls causing JO to be in foul trouble they'd Doc'k even more minutes. Look at what the bench did. They not only stayed in the game but they rallied back in the 1st.

Rondo 45 minutes today, 40 minutes vs the Knicks. (Oh by the way 12 assists from Rondo and nearly 70% from the line. Insane how he got so many assists when the other guys were playing terrible.)

Seriously, Danny or someone needs to talk to Doc about his trust issues. I think our starters being super tired is part of the reason we can't score in the 4th quarter.

Well at least he's a winner at losing. The game was hardly in question. Miami closed it down the last 5 and we helped with 3 turnovers and some bad shots. The core of the team is worn out. The mind is willing but the flesh weak. Rondo won't last long with these +40 minute games. Been around too long to see these big  come backs as being anything meaningful but loses. 0/2

I like how some people think they could have coached the game better than Doc. Im sure in 5 years the C's will be calling them in for interviews. :P

Now what people need to realize is this is technically games 3 and 4 of preseason. Some of the stretch's of playing time forn the Vets are to get their legs before he gets into the heavy time management. He's only had a full roster for a week and a half. So he's still learning what works with line ups. Its going to take a couple more weeks for that. He still has to get PP and Pietrus in the rotations.

Sasha starts because he want's to try to keep his main bench coming off right now. He's trying to get the use to playing with each other, and if you start Daniels, that throws it off.

Bradley I think may be playing for trade. You see guys play before a trade usally so the team they are trading with sees them play. Or maybe Moore is up, and they don't want him injured, or Bradley just knows the system a little better than Moore at this point and needed the body to get threw a stretch.

Its going to take a couple more weeks for this team to look good. I'd rather loose to the Knicks and Heat now then in a few months. But it does show how much this team has left and the great D the C's can throw at them in the playoffs.

Doc was fantastic, the zone was a brilliant idea and I loved how he worked on the refs all game too (although it didn't pay off).

The game was CERTAINLY in question. If 2 of those 4 bad calls go our way we are up by 2 points in many situations.
You're saying the core of the team is worn out after 2 regular season games? Seriously? Why don't you press the doomsday button right now.

The reason he kept them in was to prove to themselves that they can beat Miami. It also plants a seed in Miami's minds that the Celtics can still beat them and that they know what to do to beat them- the zone. This is without our best scorer and captain, and without our backup center.

Do you really think that Doc is going to play Rondo for 40-45 minutes a night? We've played two of our toughest competitors in the East in our first two games, and after horrible starts and hot shooting from our opponents, we've shown our defensive tenacity and come back to almost win. We could be up 2-0 now if we had some help from the refs in tough spots. And if we'd won both these close games it would definitely be worth it right?

Please use some logic before panicking in despair:
*No Pierce, we now have Pietrus
*No Wilcox
*Huge comebacks vs two of the best teams in the league.
*Rondo is playing GREAT.Bass is playing great.
*Extremely questionable refereeing leading to major disadvantages in both games.
*We now know exactly what to do against the Heat.ZONE.
*We have played only 2 games. We aren't 15 games in and the starters are all exhausted.
"We are lucky we have a very patient GM that isn't willing to settle for being good and coming close. He wants to win a championship and we have the potential to get there still with our roster and assets."

quoting 'Greg B' on RealGM after 2017 trade deadline.
Read that last line again. One more time.
