No, Gary... We need a real backup PG, not these combo guys that Danny keeps finding.

Stiemsma will do just fine if Doc will actually play the kid.

maybe it's just me but the lone bright spot tonight was Steimsma looks like he's a pretty decent pick up by Danny.

well here come the rookies.  let's see what they can do

Stiemsma is a nice player but he's a non factor offensively, just like JO.  For that reason alone I couldn't advocate including him in the starting lineup.  Not getting enough on offense from the rest of our starters right now to justify putting a one-dimensional guy like that with the starters.

I'd actually advocate starting Bass or Wilcox (when he's back) over JO or Stiesma.
Bass could take 20+ shots as a starter.

Sad to watch this Kevin Garnett. Get them out, doc. Please

To preserve KG I think we should just give him every third game off or something.  Don't make him play on the second night of a back to back.  KG looks like he should be playing 20-25 minutes a night at most.

Was JJJ's shot blocked there?  My league pass on my laptop conveniently froze up.

I'm actually okay with that.  Right now, I'd prefer Bass taking those shots to KG or JO.

It's only the start, Vinnie.  This season is going to be like 2010 only much worse.  A lot of young teams are going to "prove themselves" by beating up a weary and undermanned C's team.

  • We may as well put Tyrion in at center.

so, anyone have an explanation as to how a team like NO that has thrown together a bunch of players that aren't familiar with the coach or each other can look so much more on the same page than the Celtics that have a starting line-up (other than Sasha) that has played together for years and have a supposedly brilliant coach?

boggles my mind how the C's look so out of sorts so far this year.  I'm sure PP's absence plays a part but it can't possibly explain this type of team performance so far.

well, at least tonight i think you can chalk it up to them being very tired.

the bench is comprised of a bunch of guys who have never played before, as well.

NO at least has guys like Jack, Ariza, Landry, Okafor, Bellineli who have all played most of a season together. Tonight our starters were exhausted and our bench is totally out of sorts; just a bunch of guys who met last week trying their best to play like a coherent team.
but KG, Ray, Rondo, JO and Sasha played together last year also (as did Daniels).  many of them for more than 1 year.  And these guys are a better set of players than NO has.

I can buy that the C's may be tired but NO has looked like a team that's more in sync.  I put that on Doc and his coaching staff.

Combination of factors behind this loss.  Rondo had very little energy/aggression on either end (2 boards, a handful of shot attempts) leaving our offense as a lazy series of screens for Ray and post-ups.

The bigs were non-existent on the boards.

I'm not advocating he start, just that e looks like a decent pickup when I thought he'd be a stiff.

So refreshing to watch a PF actually complete the "roll" part of the pick and roll, with KG it takes him a solid 5 seconds to collect and "roll"

I agree.  I like Stiemsma, and in past years he would be a great role player to have for 10-15 minutes a night.  But playing 20+ minutes in games like tonight I think he hurts as much as he helps by not adding much of anything offensively.
