aren't you leaving out an important GIANT detail; Jajuan hasn't played a single NBA minute yet.  ::)

i think that's kind of his point.

That the C's have heart, so they don't give up once they are down a few baskets, so the kids can get some run?

Nets got smoked and it was all garbage time in the second half. Brooks probably doesn't even get off the bench in a close game.
He played the first quarter, though they were down 20 points early.

Fair enough, but still a blowout. I'm not about to jump and claim the Cs missed out on him yet.

no, that JuJuan hasn't even earned time on the court yet.

Jon Leuer with an impressive game too: 5-7 shooting for 14 points, 8 rebounds, 2 steals, 2 blocks and an assist in 20 minutes.

With a decent amount of rookies picked in the late 1st and early 2nd contributing, hopefully the Purdue boys show something this season. Plenty of time for JJJ to play, though.

  • You ain't the boss of the freakin' bedclothes.
Volume scoring on a (until proven otherwise) non playoff team is something a lot of people can do. Heck scoring in the NBA has never been a huge issue for rookies with a talent for it.

It's tricky things like defense that escape most rookies, especially big men. Debate is so premature I wouldn't even call it a zygote.

I'm sure that if JJ were playing for the Nets, he'd get some games where he got to play 20 plus minutes and put up decent numbers on the wrong end of blow outs.

I like JJ and think he'll be a real player in this league.

He's playing for the nets. without lopez right now, dwill cant score all the points
The Nets will finish with the worst record and the Celtics will end up with the 4th pick.

Man, that Aaron Rodgers guy in Green Bay must be awful. It took him 4 years to play.

They're getting blown out by the Magic...so it's not like he's helping the effort. He's just putting up points on a team missing one of their top 2 scorers.

The fact that his team is losing, doesnt mean Brooks isnt balling, and it doesnt mean he isnt looking like the steal of the draft so far.

Putting up points against better teams while getting blown doesnt take away from you as a player...if it did Paul Pierce would have been a nobody for like a decade.

That falls into the "somebody has to" category.

By the way, three games into the season and Deron's got 17 assists and 16 turnovers and is shooting under 30% from the field. If Rondo was doing that the "trade Rondo" threads would only be matched in number by the "amnesty Rondo" threads.

Ha, like Brooks would have actually gotten to play anyways.  Doc never ever plays the rookies...ever.
Leon Powe, Mike Miller, Rajon Rondo, Pat Burke, Semih Erden, and many others beg to differ.
Oh, you know what I mean.
Huh?

What meaning could you have other than "Doc never plays rookies"? Which he clearly has in the past, some for extensive minutes other as role players.
doc only plays rookies when he has no vet options left on the bench.

Gomes, Powe, BBD, Rondo, Semih, Luke, Orien Greene and even Bradley this year only saw the court in their first and second year when Doc didn't have a vet option to play ahead of them --- almost always due to injuries to the vets or in the days just before KG/Ray, because the other young players just stunk (i.e. Rondo finally getting time over Telfair).

If you can provide an example since Doc has coached the C's where a young player was given time over an active and healthy vet player, I'd love to hear it.  A lot of people on here have said Doc doesn't play young people because they're not ready but that's hard to believe when so many of Danny's picks have shown they can play when given time.  Not all of them (Gerald as an example) but definitely a solid number.

You can just tell that he needs a lot of work.. he needs to hit the weight room IMO, and I honestly don't really think he's someone to depend on in the future to be alongside Rondo and maybe Jeff Green...

Brooks could have been the starting 2-guard here in the future, as well as make an impact right now

You may have something. Jjuan Seems like a nice kid; but he and Green both lack that killer instinct that Brooks has. You will see Jjuan before too long.
