i dont think bradley and moore work under the cap, plus with the injury to aurther they need more depth in the post

I would love Mayo on this team but we trade Mayo for JO and who starts at center for us?

This is the question that really makes this proposed trade a non-starter. We need JO and Doc needs to start playing Stiemsma and JJJ, especially with Wilcox out.

Przybilla said that he would make a decision "after the holidays", whatever that means. Let's hope it for us.

By the way, JO for May-O has quite a ring to it, and it (would) look(s)good to see Mayo in green. ;)

after last night this team really needs a shake up. Paul and Pietras will help alot when they come back however we need more. Its time to go after mayo with JO,Avery and a pick if needed and then bring back POWE.

Sure, let me get my time machine from the garage.

You can move JO and pick up Pryzbilla, or Dampier, or both for vet minimum deals. Neither will give you any less than what JO gives you, but they would add size and toughness which we are sorely lacking.

From the little i saw of leon last season i would take him over Jo. At least he has a motor and plays with heart. This team needs to add some fire and leon has that. JO and KG are both playing soft something that leon has never done.

How about Rondo for Conley and Mayo.  I think overall the trade will help both teams.  Rondo is the best player in the deal and his lack of shooting isn't as big a deal for a team with Gay, Randolph, and Gasol and his better defense would be a help to their backcourt.  The Celtics get two young talented players and Conley's better shooting and Mayo's ability to create his own shot will help the Celtics immensely both this year and going forward.

The Celtics could bring someone on this team that has the EXACT same skill set as Jermaine O'neal fairly easily.  If you could get OJ Mayo on this team and all you'd have to give up is JO, you do it.

Even Chris Wallace would make this traded...and he is insane.

After tonight I wonder if more people want to trade JO? 1 of 6 or something?

Unfortunately that doesn't change the fact that he's a 6'6 PF with 2 bad knees.

I'm not sure why all the Mayo fascination.  Our guy TA, who was pretty villified on this board easily beat him out for the starting job.  As much as I can't stand JO, I wouldn't trade him for Mayo.  I'd prefer to try to aquire a passable center who can actually rebound and finish near the rim.  I've never seen a 7footer miss as many layups as JO.

TA beat him out because of what that team needed in the starting lineup, not necessarily because of the respective skill levels.  A lineup of Conley, Gay, Randolph, and Gasol isn't exactly a stellar defensive lineup but has plenty of scoring so Allen adds more to that unit than Mayo would have.  Mayo is however the better player.

TA beat out Mayo because Mayo and Gay where horrible together. Mayo is a scorer and TA is a defender who doesn't need to shoot. With Conly,Gay, Randolph and Gasol the Grizz have no problem scoring but aren't a great defensive unit. OJ average 18pts as a rookie and shot a decent percentage. His offense would work very well along side rondo. With a pass first point guard pushing on the break and under the tutelage of ray and doc OJ could become a 20+pt go to scoring threat and a key piece of our rebuild while helping this year.

Why not. Question is what would Memphis ask. Bradley? E'Twaun? Sasha? a pick? Jermaine? I don't think it'll be enough though.

Gay missed a lot of games last year while TA was playing ahead of Mayo.
