I think the thing to take out of last nights game is that the C's are still better than the Knicks we just need our Captain.  The Celtics had no one who could go after Anthony's shaky defense, which causes him to be less effective on offense.  Carmelo is definitely better than Pierce by far, but he shouldn't be scoring 37 points in 34 minutes, ever.

A quick look at Anthony's plus/minus from the playoffs and last night shows how important Pierce is for Cs to beat the Knicks.  Last year in the playoffs Anthony had a -40 over the 4 playoff games.  In last nights game Anthony was +15.  The Celtics had the biggest runs in the 3rd when Anthony was on the bench with foul trouble.

If you want to see how these teams match up look at the 3rd quarter with both Pierce and Carmelo not in the game.  The Celtics outscored them by 18 points.  I don't think anyone should panic, we just need our Captain back.  The Knicks might have closed the gap but they are still not better.

Exactly what I thought yesterday! They gave everything they had to beat us by 2 fts and we didn't have Pierce and they were in their home opener! Imagine what we do if we had Pierce! I think it showed why we are better this season than last (after our bigs went down of course).
It takes me 3hrs to get to Miami and 1hr to get to Orlando... but I *SPIT* on their NBA teams! "Bless God and bless the (Celts)"-Lady GaGa (she said gays but she really meant Celts)

The Knicks have the best frontcourt in the NBA....and after that....NOTHING....absolutely nothing...

Everything fell right for them to barely beat us by two.....

The only thing that concerns me are the rumblings that they will get both KMart and Wilson Chandler when they are free from China...

That will make them very tough....let's hope that we get one of the China boys...
