What do ya'll think? I have a feeling he will we saw what he did to this Knicks team who are now pretty big, the Heats freakish athleticism scares me though. I know one thing whatever the case Rondo can't do it alone were going to need some help offensively.

In a word -- no.

Nobody is going to "carve up" Miami.

Oh one person might, but that doesn't mean they'll succumb to those wounds.

At least, that's my interpretation of the question. Will Rondo play as well as he did against NYK? Well, I think he might.

But I don't know if that means we'll win.

You never know, he could be out on a mission after being cut short in the playoffs last year to prove what a healthy Rajon Rondo can do ( he was battling plantar fasciitis bad, then the elbow)

Yeah, they probably won't let a single opponent go off against them all year...

Certainly there will be players that score against the Heat, no doubt.  But unless LBJ and Wade are taking the night off, I have a hard time seeing anybody "carving up" the Heat defense.

So players will have big games against the Heat without "carving up" the Heat defense? Interesting.

if Rondo knows what's good for his health he'd avoid the crashes into that zone in Miami. These big guys won't tolerate Rondo constantly making them look foolish. It's human nature. They will put an end to it. Defenses will start laying for him as they did last season. It doesn't serve the team well to be ailing all season especially when we are so thin. Besides these minutes are going drain this team early on this season. KG was out of gas yesterday. Doc wants 20/10 out of KG. 15/8 looks about right.

I think Rondo will be playing with a chip on his shoulder.  I think the fact we lost to them might help us a little.   They have beaten us so they might not be playing with the same fire.   Our guys have lost one and got eliminated by them last year.  So we may come out looking for revenge.

I still think it is unlikely we win without Pierce/Pietrus though but the motivation is there and is possible we win.  Trouble with the HEAT is that sometimes they believe all this annointed one crap and don't always show up.  Are we their nemesis now or is Dallas?  We were their finals last year and they were clearly more pumped for us than Dallas.

Rondo might have a great game, but just like yesterday, the Celtics will lose.

Heat should be favorites at home without Pierce around to help check LBJ. He's hard enough to contain with a full strength squad, eventually he'll take advantage of his matchup.

I do think Rondo has a very good chance to have another great game, though I'm skeptical he'll be able to repeat his FT and outside shooting. If he can that's a very good sign.

Rondo will spend the game chasing DWade on defense and pushing the ball by himself on offense. I just hope Sasha and Marquis run the floor a little more to help him. Ray will need to hit a few jumpers and run the floor as well. KG will be fine in the half court against Bosh and I expect our other bigs to feast if they go inside against Anthony and Haslem.

The real key to the game IMHO will be Lebron as he demolishes Sasha and Marquis. Pietrus is not going to be ready even if he dresses. The only people we have (had) to handle Lebron, PP and Jeff Green are injured.

I don't think he'll have as good a game against Miami as he did against NY if for no other reason than he played unbelievably yesterday.  I think Miami will have something planned to slow him up.  Bron and Wade will help out Rondo's defender if not take him on themselves.

I can't help but feel the C's will get pasted in Miami tomorrow.  No PP, Green or Pietrus to put on Bron.  If Sasha and Daniels were way overmatched against Melo, they'll be steamrolled by the anointed one.

Wade will take him if the Heat feel he is going off on them too much and keeping the Celtics in the game. Otherise it will be Chalmers IMHO if we are getting "Pasted".

I think we will do the same thing against the King as we did Melo and that is make him  primarily a jump shooter. At least that is a lower percentage shot for him.
