Rondo can't put up those kind of numbers against most teams.  The Knicks are terrible
"the Knicks are terrible"..... really?? I dont care who else is on your team, if you have Carmello Anthony and Amare Stoudemire on your team you can not be terrible. People will always find an exscuse to justify their opinion. Rondo can score a ton when he chooses against any team in the league and hes shown that before. When its required of him, he goes off, and this season its required of him, so expect this more often.

lol right? Not to mention they added Tyson Chandler. I mean the Knicks are no Miami Heat or Bulls in terms of defense but a lot of "experts" have picked the Knicks to win the Atlantic Division...they're a pretty [dang] good team.
They are terrible.  It was practically a layup drill.  Yes Chandler had 6 blocks, but their interior defense is atrocious.  Rondo destroyed them in the playoffs... averaged 19 points, 12 assists and 7 rebounds through 4 games...

Agreed, The Knicks suck defensively. Some of those baskets Rondo got today wouldn't happen in a JV game.

Whatever the defense gives us Rondo is what we need.   If those baskets are there he has to take them.

Personally, I was thrilled with how aggressive he was. He seemed ready to rock right out of the gate. He understood without PP someone had to score and went full throttle. The jumpshot was open and he was ready to pull the trigger. It almsot seemed like it looked better. Maybe it is because it went in more.

Scoring or distributing, doesn't matter.  Take what the defense gives you.  Rondo knows how to do both and generally at the right time.

One thing worth nothing, Rondo's gotta be a huge fan of Bass.  His assist total per game goes up 2-4 with Bass on this team in place of BBD.

Just think the opponent's rim is other celtics player. Thus jump shot is just kind of pass  ;D .

Best and appropriate play Rondo.

I want him taking every open jumper early in the season. In game repetition is the best way to build confidence and to get teams to stop cheating going forward. He shouldn't think that if he misses 2 in a row that is the end, because it happens. If the coach and his teammates think he can hit it, he should believe them and take it with conviction.

This is easy... a winning Rondo! I don't care how he does it but if he wins the Celtics win, that's all I need! For sure we will need these two things, separately some nights and other nights we will need both! GO CELTICS!!!!!!!!!
TP ImShak.....winning Rondo rules!!!!

Hopefully we see both this year.

In important games/playoffs, they need Scoring Rondo. Based maybe PP, he's the best option to create offense.

In lesser games, Distributing Rondo so he can save his legs and avoid injuries.

Don't see why he can't do both. I don't like when he's not passing the ball, and just going for scoring. I like him when he moves the ball, has people moving around, and then going for scoring.

Always a balance.
