  • It's all about the TEAM!
Let me get this right. You get a T for "assumed" attempted flopping when the other guy is throwing elbows at you? You don't have to actually even complete the flop by going to the floor. You just have to "look like" you were "thinking" of flopping (disregarding the elbows being lobbed at you).

Is "attempted flopping" without falling to the floor T-Worthy?

Isn't this "at worst" a foul?

Is backing away from elbows really T-Worthy???

Give me a break!

Honestly I am so used to awkward nba officiating I am just over it and accept it now. I am at the point I kinda find it entertaining. I mean Crawford is just so creative with the calls that you would never suspect that I just sit in amazement.

A couple weeks ago I made a comment I refed an elementary school game and in my first game I was better than an NBA ref. But it really is kinda true. I mean it's like who do you believe? The NBA or your own lying eyes. I pretty much never ever go to a high school game, or watch an Olympic game, or watch an NCAA game and constantly think "horrible" like I do in the NBA.  And then they have the guts to tell me they have the best officiating in the world at the same time as you have a Crawford picking on a Duncan and Donaghy telling us things we suspected all along without any prosecution of purgery or the nba suing him for defamation. It's just either bad officiating on purpose or bad officiating for some other reason and it just goes on. I accept it like I accept huge budget deficits, no congressional term limits, and no end to the electoral college.  But I don't have to take the NBA seriously. Certainly not on this issue

Joey is bad because he makes it about himself, but the worst is Salvador who 'fixes' things to go the way the league wants them to. at least with Joey you never know when hes going to make a bad call so both teams have to be on there toes.

He is the GRENCH that stole the Celtics XMAS

But Santa Joey had to take care of John McEnroe, Billy Joel, Spikey, and all of the beautiful people of Noo Yuk who shelled out 5000 bucks to see their precious darling Nix win. Besides, Mr Stern would never allow those Green Devils steal God's team's Christmas. Everybody is a winner when the Brix win by 2 points over the Celtix. I have been fighting this F Boston mentality for over fifty years. In fact this is the Q's life work. Yesterday was another sad example of things not working out. So we move on to My Hammy. We'll probably get Knick Bavetta refereeing that one.
The beatings will continue until morale improves

This is a great post.

It's easy for Crawford and CO to to be creative with their officiating when there are so many "interpretations" based on players....situations....To choose from.

So did Doc get fined for his post game comments yet? I'm sure it's only a matter of time. Doc's cash and the fine KG will get for chocking Walker will be a great start for the league to get back some of the money lost from the lockout.

Isn't this the same Joey Crawford who was part of the officiating crew for Game 7 of the 2010 Finals? A game in which the Fakers shot 20 free throws in the 4th quarter, and 37 overall. While we shot 17 free throws the whole game. The Celts have plenty to blame themselves for that loss. But good ol' Joey finds a way to give our opponents the advantage.

Joey hates us. He's a Philly guy who grew up watching the Sixers lose to us almost every year. So now he is taking out his childhood hatred on these C's. David Stern also hates us, but that's a different story. Whenever the NBA wants us to lose a game, they just stick us with Joey the scumbag.

Joey Crawford is one of the worst refs in the league, and always has been. Unfortunately there's absolutely nothing we or any other fan-base can do about it. The Celtics are not at the top of his "Favorites" list, but they are still a good enough team that they can overcome most of his negative affect on the game. He's a necessary evil we and the C's have to deal with, and it doesn't do much good to worry about it. If the Celtics make him an issue, it's their own fault, but they're generally above that for the most part.

It's hard enough when your franchise player is sitting out due to injury to make a comeback like the C's did. To have to overcome terrible calls on top of it is another issue in itself.

The new commissioner should be voted on by the players, coaches, owners and fans.

in my opinion, the new comish should be a former player, that would turn this game back to the great days

Joey Crawford is an admitted thief and crook

Quote
Airline ticket income investigation
In 1998, Crawford was one of eight NBA referees charged with filing false income tax returns after an Internal Revenue Service investigation found that cash was being pocketed by referees when airline tickets provided by the league were downgraded. At the conclusion of a four year investigation, Crawford pleaded guilty on July 1, 1998[5] to falsely stating income of $82,500 from 1991 to 1993[6] and resigned from the NBA effective immediately. He was reinstated by NBA commissioner David Stern in 1999 and did not miss a game due to a players' lockout that started the 1998–99 NBA season.[7]

Despite cheating on his taxes, Crawford didn't miss one game from his "suspension" from Herr Stern.  What do these Philly refs have on the league and commish that they get away with making the NBA's refereeing the biggest sham out of any refereeing in the major team sports?
