When you disrespect your opponent, like KG often does, you can expect every loss to feel like the other team won the NBA finals.  Teams will relish beating the Celtics because of the false bravado that a guy like KG dishes out.  If KG is that cool veteran leader, he should have just walked off the floor.  But no, he felt it necessary to literally choke hold a guy...

False? I think KG is like that for real. This is hard fought competition not a beauty contest. I want somebody like KG on my team.

I wish the real question was "should Joey Crawford worry about a suspension?"  Unfortunately, the NBA is just as crooked as he was.

That technical on Sasha should've ended the man's career.  Melo elbows Sasha 3 times, Sasha does nothing and says nothing, and gets T-ed up.  Unbelievable.

Just amazed at the people defending KG.  Some people in green jersies can just do no wrong to Celtics fans.  Guy choked, then acted like a sore loser punk.

Since Larry Bird is Basketball Jesus - ask yourself.  WWJD?  Would Bird fire up a wide open game-ending brick, then get rattled by some scrub on the opposing team's trash talk and respond by choking said scrub?

</end of discussion>
No. Larry will probably just give him the old fist in the nose, and the then-NBA would have handed out some fines. That's the way it worked back then.

LOL, uh no.  Larry would've just walked off the floor and said "i'll get you next time."

Please show me a reference of Bird starting an altercation after a game.  Thanks.
Please show me a game where someone got into Bird's mug after a game.

I'd rather see the style of KG than all the buddy buddy crap you see nowadays.  KG is chippy and talks trash but you know he wants to win every game with some other guys not so much.  They are too  busy slapping their rumps and laughing.

in hockey this would be no big deal..

in an NBA where every player is "buddy buddy" with other players and wants to go play with their "friends" I dont mind seeing someone who actually Hates their opponent.

we can't even compare larry's legend to KG's unmatched tenacity..either way, both are effective, competitive and results oriented..larry takes his strength from passivity while KG from his outward spunk, definitely emanating from different spectrum levels but both  bleeding green..i resent people, specially "bandwagoners" who instigate KG's demeanor as detrimental to the team's cause, mind you folks, he takes to the court all the grit to give the team you are supposedly siding on a 'W'..day in and day out he lays it on the line like no other, if you hate his tenacity, his "heart" for the game, willingness to win and pride to wear that shamrock on his chest, then i suggest you go cheer for another team... :P

My thought was two.  I guess the reason I'd think that is that it was the first game of the year on national TV in front of two huge markets. There were grandmas watching that game. There were great grandmas watching that game. Families that don't watch these things together were doing that. Very bad timing

KG was sticking up for his grandmother, because Walker must have said something about being romantically involved with KG's mother/grandmother. Whatever it was, it p---ed him off!

I don't think 2 games though, depending what example they want to set. I don't think any will be applied. Maybe a public fine that they'll make ESPN run on repeat notice for a day or two.
Doc might get one for his comments towards Crawford too.
"We are lucky we have a very patient GM that isn't willing to settle for being good and coming close. He wants to win a championship and we have the potential to get there still with our roster and assets."

quoting 'Greg B' on RealGM after 2017 trade deadline.
Read that last line again. One more time.

people fail to realize Bill Walker is quite the punk himself..... KG knows that... Bird would have probably done the same thing, or at least a shove, maybe not to the neck lol.

He yelled for the call after the second elbow, that's why he got the technical.

He also got called for a few fouls just for putting his body in Melo's path as he posted him up. I can understand why he was frustrated but if you yell at Joey Crawford you know what's going to happen....
