Bill was talking trash; KG does not talk trash, ergo, Bill should be suspended. No need to allow talk trash in the NBA.

He got into a heated exchange with Bill Walker after the buzzer and things got physical. Should we be worried about a suspension for Mr. Garnett? I think it's possible.
Walker was being a punk. I guess he felt the need to yap, since his "game" (1 missed shot, 3 turnovers and 4 fouls in 15 minutes -- and nothing else) certainly didn't speak for itself.

He got what he looked for.

LOL so Walker was being a punk for trash-talking? Yeah, that never happens in the NBA.  Especially someone like a Kevin Garnett.  Never trash talks.   ::)

Someone who responds with fists after choking on the game's final shot is the punk.  And a sore loser.

But as been pointed out here - it's probably better KG gets suspended.  This team is going to get obliterated by Miami on Tuesday.  No sense wasting a 35 year old who's got one healthy knee in it.
Yes, when you have no positive stat in 15 minutes of playing time talking means you're being a punk. Even more so if you're a career nobody such as Bill Walker.

Blind homerism. KG shouldn't be choking anyone period. 17 year vet must control his emotion. Hopefully the league is lenient on him.

"Change" you sound a bit self righteous in my not so humble opinion. Emotions get the best of everyone - even veterans. He is a future HOF player on the last leg of his career trying to win a ring one more time and he missed the last shot of Game 1 of maybe his lat season.  He has  some no name thug talking trash who got a little well deserved wake up call.

The real sad part is that the NBA actually suspends players for this meaningless after-game "dust-up". Insane

If an opposing player did this to anyone on the Celtics, fans would be calling for his head. KG's move was over the line. Whether it is a fine or a suspension, crap like this should not be tolerated.

Just amazed at the people defending KG.  Some people in green jersies can just do no wrong to Celtics fans.  Guy choked, then acted like a sore loser punk.

Since Larry Bird is Basketball Jesus - ask yourself.  WWJD?  Would Bird fire up a wide open game-ending brick, then get rattled by some scrub on the opposing team's trash talk and respond by choking said scrub?

He might.....he was certainly not opposed to fighting in the game ...it just so happens he never had it happen AFTER the game.

and by the way ...I am not defending necessarily defending KG as I am being critical of the stupid NBA that call technicals and suspensions for some very very benign things. To me, it's absurd

No. Larry will probably just give him the old fist in the nose, and the then-NBA would have handed out some fines. That's the way it worked back then.

I will support KG till the end and he's my favorite player, but I can't stand behind this today. That was something that is supposed to be beneath him and he fell for Walkers trash talking which is funny since he does the same thing to get into other players head.  I wouldn't be shocked if he was suspended and I wouldn't be mad either. He knew better and shouldn't have let the loss get to him like that.

LOL, uh no.  Larry would've just walked off the floor and said "i'll get you next time."

Please show me a reference of Bird starting an altercation after a game.  Thanks.

I'd have to go back and watch the game again (no thank you) but I'm pretty sure that Walker cheap shotted KG (an elbow) earlier in the game.  Remember seeing that and saying something about it, but can't remember when it occurred.  Of course, who knows what they said before of after that.

It is what it is, but KG was a little out of line.  Whatever, just makes the next time these teams meet all the more interesting.

Will he be suspended, yes, I believe he will and he should be. Should we be worried about it? No, why should we? It's going to be game 2 of the regular season which will be on the road against the Heat without Pierce and Pietrus, so who cares? KG or not, we aren't winning that game, and it won't make much of a difference at the end of the season either way.

I've read old reports of Celtic legends beating the hell out of people in on the court fights. In today's PG and safe NBA, KG can't do what he didn't. But Bill Walker shouldn't act like the Knicks just won a playoff series against us.

I agree, but it sounds like Walker hates KG from his days as a celtic rookie when KG abused him on a daily basis. He should up his game instead of acting like a thug though if he wants revenge on KG.
