If we got the chance to acquire Dwight in 2012-2013. Why? Look at the potential lineup

PG Rondo/Dooling
SG Ray(resign for about 6 million)/Moore/2012 1st pick
SF Pierce/Green
PF Baby/Wilcox/Green(2nd postion)
C  Howard(somehow use KG's money and +others+picks)/ Wilcox(2nd position)/ Erden(sign when he's a free agent)

That would've been better in my opinion than Bass in the starting line-up cause it'll make us more defensive (Baby > Bass at D) plus, Bass is really bad at playing along with the superstar at front lines...jujding from Bass's 2 years with him

Glen Davis wanted a long term deal, that alone made me happy to trade him for Bass.

Beyond that if we were to somehow convince Howard to come to the C's I don't think Davis is a good fit for him. Howard has excelled with a 4 who can hit shots to give him space.

Davis takes those shots, but he doesn't make them.

If Davis was enough to get Howard, shouldn't Howard now be happy in Orlando?

Howard was complaining about the fact that the team didn't listen to enough of his suggestions about player acquisitions, and they change that by giving $26M to Glen freakin Davis to make him happy. If this is an example of the suggestions that were ignored it gives you a good glimpse of the tough spot these GMs are in.

From what I've read, BBD was somewhere at the bottom of the list of players Dwight wants/wanted in Orlando. Monta Ellis, Chauncey Billups and Stephen Jackson were listed a lot higher.

I agree with wdleehi, but if this was a suggestion it's a terrible one.  I honestly doubt it.  It would explain it though (I can't for the life of me understand the logic that traded the better and cheap Bass for Big Baby long term).

I would not be surprised if the Big Baby signing was all on Orlando's management though.  They have signed and taken on bad contracts (Hedo, Rashard being particularly awful) and their whole plan of "Lets surround Dwight Howard with guys that can only shoot" to me was idiotic and not a formula for winning Playoff basketball.

If BBD was a Howard suggestion, he doesn't have much sense.  Then again his whole complaint of "you don't listen to my roster suggestions" was totally ridiculous, and to me one of the more arrogant statements I've heard out of an athlete.  You are not the GM, go play basketball.

Big Baby was no the key to keeping Dwight Howard (to me it sounds completely ridiculous) and it will be evident when he is traded soon.

I don't think so!  I believe that once DH plays with BBD he'll be happy to get away from him.  BBD is not a starting PF on any championship contender!
