"JJ earns KG's trust: It may seem minor, but JaJuan Johnson appears to have already earned the trust of Kevin Garnett and that's huge for him moving forward. Garnett only gives newcomers one chance early on to take his guidance and rookie Johnson appears to have passed the test. "Kevin is clearly taking JaJuan under his wing. You guys have been around -- he gives you the one shot and if he thinks you’re paying attention, he spends the year around you, and you can see JaJuan obviously has passed the test," said Rivers. "Which is good news for everyone, because it makes it a bad year for that guy."

Thats good news for JaJuan. I know this guy sucked last game, but this guy has alot of potential. He just needs to add a little weight to his frame..

I hope we put 3J in Maine or trade him along with Bradley for a veteran, a first round pick and then sign another younger veteran like Nate Robinson.

Nate > Bradley
Johnson < 1st round pick, random veteran
Jameer an elite PG?Please, ask that to his garbage highlights.

+1 for that bit of good news!

Good news for JJJ....and for the Cs.

In the Sunday's Raptor game, he looked a little lost, but not totally so.

He grabbed a rugged bound in traffic and just missed on his jumper later on. His shooting will come around.

JJJ was also called for a charge on a terrible call. I liked that he was aggressive taking it to the rim.

If that call goes the other way and/or he makes the jumper (and he will make many) people's perception of him from that game would be different.

Good for him.  JJ would definitely benefit from adopting KG's defensive intensity.
2025 Draft: Chicago Bulls

PG: Chauncey Billups/Deron Williams
SG: Kobe Bryant/Eric Gordon
SF: Jimmy Butler/Danny Granger/Danilo Gallinari
PF: Al Horford/Zion Williamson
C: Yao Ming/Pau Gasol/Tyson Chandler

That would have been a blocking call for anyone other then a rookie... definitely a bad call.

I don't think JJJ looked bad at all.

this is good news, if for no other reason than because we're probably going to need to play JJJ a lot this year.  i expect KG and O'Neal to both miss significant time.  there will be more than a handful of games where neither KG nor JO is playing and JJJ will need to play extended minutes.

I don't think he looked bad at all.  He didn't force things kind of like green last year, or gomes when he was a rookie.  Played team ball and didn't force his own game (davis)

It's way too early to call him a bust I think.  Give the kid some time.

How can you call someone a bust after 3 weeks of training camp and 1 preseason game? lol

I would think that this is a positive thing.  KG certainly has many traits that would help many players in the league.  That said, I would imagine it takes the right type of player.  Like I think KG was a great influence on Perk and his career.

But in some cases, I wonder how good it really is for a young player to have a maniacal KG screaming at him constantly in practice.  I don't know that you can teach intensity, or borderline insanity.

So I don't know exactly what this means, but I guess it's a good thing.

This is great for JJJ and for the team. I think after dealing with the likes of Glen Davis the last few years, KG was happy to accept any young big man under his wing this year ;D

jajuan johnson already has an nba offensive skillset. having KG take him under his wing can only be a good thing. we need as many big-athletic bodies as possible this year...and that means JJJ will have to contribute
