Sullinger is going to be horrible in the nba.  Watch him play he's lazy.

PG - Ramon Sessions / Keyon Dooling
SG - O.J. Mayo / E'Twaun Moore
SF - Paul Pierce / Jeff Green
PF - Jared Sullinger / Brandon Bass / JaJuan Johnson
C - Chris Wilcox / Ian Mahinmi

[assumes on draft night Danny trades Rondo + Bradley + Bos 1st + Clips 1st to move into the top 5 and take Sullinger, or some other top prospect]

yay, time to be awful for a few years!  potential!

Here is what i would do.

Trade 1 land DH12 in a package centered around PP. Orlando has said they would prefer Veterains i beleive.

Trade 2 trade KG for Josh Smith.

Trade 3 Trade Rondo for Deron Williams.

Willams / Dolling
Ray Allen / Bradly / Moore
Pietrus / quise
Josh Smith / Bass
Howard / O'neal

Hopefully with Willaims and Howard already here we can get them to resign. If not screw it and start over
Green 18!

I haven't spent that much time following this year's draft class in the NCAA, so you can go ahead and replace Sullinger with whoever is a worthy top 5 pick.

  • I'm a Paul Heyman guy.
As long as they draft Thomas Robinson and keep Ray and Rondo, Danny can do whatever he wants. All this team needs is someone who can command the low post. We had that before in KG until he just started taking jumpers. Sheed was a post presence as well too. It brings double teams in the paint, opening up the floor.

Robinson has great post presence. He can play back to basket and knows when and where to move along the paint.

And if they can sign Spencer Hawes to a 4 year 30 million deal, I'm sold. He ain't a game changer, but a dude who can average 10 points ,10+ rebounds and a couple blocks every 36 minutes while being only 24 and has room to grow will be a good piece.

Will this be a championship conteder, long shot. But in the future we'll be solid.

PG: Jrue Holiday / Isaiah Thomas / Larry Hughes
SG: Paul George / Aaron McKie / Bradley Beal
SF: Paul Pierce / Tayshaun Prince / Brian Scalabrine
PF: LaMarcus Aldridge / Shareef Abdur-Raheem / Ben Simmons
C: Jermaine O'neal / Ben Wallace

That would be very nice. I'd look forward to watching that team play.

The defensive combination of Asik and Josh Smith would be great to watch.

Realistically.. if KG doesn't retire we will have just enough cap room to re-sign KG and Ray and give Jeff Green a contract.  We will go into full-blown rebuild mode when Pierce comes off the books as well.

Starting 5:

PG: Rajon Rondo
SG: O.J. Mayo (signed via Free Agency)
SF: Paul Pierce
PF: Jeff Green (signed via Free Agency)
C: Emeka Okafor (JO, Bradley + 2nd round pick)

Reserves:
Baron Davis, E'Twaun Moore, Mikael Pietrus, Brandon Bass, JaJuan Johnson, Greg Stiemsma

Honestly i think Danny and Doc got a long term plan for the C's. The rebuilding process has already started with Rondo's extension, the signing of Jeff Green and Docs extension last summer. Rajon Rondo and Jeff Green as the first two puzzle pieces to the celtics future. Both are athletic young guys, good defenders and good ball-handler. Unfortunately, the injury of Green has brought the process to stop, for now.

Signing a center has to be the #1 priority this summer. We need a center that provides rebounds and blocks. And i think Emeka Okafor could be this center. If his defensiv presence at the low post transfers to the other guys on court we'll be in great shape defensively.

And if the defensiv problems are solved we can add a new puzzle piece at the other end of the floor. O.J. Mayo brings in some athleticism and shooting skills. But more important he adds speed to the roster. He can run the fastbreak with Rondo and Green.

Baron Davis is just a personal preference for the back-up PG spot. Just like his talent, and he can be a leader for the second unit.

Pierce goes to Utah for Milsap, Hayward, Miles.
11.3 million on the books.

Rondo for Odom, Beaubois, pick (1.3+Odom Partial)
or
Rondo and Bradley for Matthews, Felton (6.5)
or
Rondo for Paul George, Amundson, Foster (2.4)

Pursue similar deals for KG (unlikely) and Ray.

Tank.

Whisper in Deron and Dwight's ears

Go with Milsap, Hayward, and Matthews for a total of 17.8 million.

Offer Derron and Dwight max salaries and the chance to play with Milsap, Hayward, Matthews, a good Boston pick, a 20s range clips pick, plus a little capspace and all exceptions available going forward:

Derron
Matthews
Hayward
Milsap
Howard

Bos #1 (4-10)
LAC #1 (17-24)

A little capspace this year

All exceptions going forward.

pg: Rondo/ E Moore/ Dooling
sg: Austin Rivers/ Ray/ Bradley
sf: Jeff Green/ Paul Pierce/ Pietrus
pf: Josh Smith/ Bass/ JaJuan Johnson
c: Omer Asik/ Meyers Leonard/ Greg Steimsma (we get Asik here through free agency. Hes restricted this coming off season but we offer him say 5 mil a year and tell him he will be starting)

note: severl of the players on this roster could be traded to aquire other players on this roster, so its roughly what it would look like.

Austin Rivers and Ray Allen would split time at sg and Jeff green and Paul would split time at the 3, with Pietrus being their back up.

This team allows us to stay competetive, while leaving room for a big free agent signing in 2013. This team would be fast, athletic, defensively solid, and strong in the middle with the ability to score the at a high rate. Crank it Danny.

edit: it would be very difficult to trade for Josh Smith, so I say wait til 13' and try through free agency.
