I was impressed with his play last night. Kid looked calm and confident in his game, didnt make bad decisions and had a really nice jumper.

I wouldnt be surprised if he beats out bradley for the backup #2 spot and can be a contributer for the celts this year

Unless he gets a lot better soon I don't see Bradley having a long NBA career; not even as a far end reserve.

Moore is a great shooter, but there must have been a reason why he was so far down in the draft.  But I do like what I see so far and hopefully this will turn out to be pleasent surprise.

I think it partly had to do with him being a little short for a shooting guard and certainly too short to swing up to the 3.

But this has been Danny's bread and butter: drafting undersized, but talented players that other teams overlook as they obsess about size and athleticism.  That's how he got Baby, Powe, and TA so late.

It's entirely possible he could turn out to be a very good NBA player - I'm not saying all-star, but productive. Look at Monta Ellis. He was taken 40th overall. So yeah, it's tough to find talent that late in the draft, but not impossible.

With the Jeff Green situation moving Marquis to the primary wing back-up spot, Moore's prospects of getting on the floor just increased measurably.

Definitely has an advantage on Bradley if only for his comfort level handling the basketball and making decision (Bradley panics whenever shooting isn't a clear option).
2025 Draft: Chicago Bulls

PG: Chauncey Billups/Deron Williams
SG: Kobe Bryant/Eric Gordon
SF: Jimmy Butler/Danny Granger/Danilo Gallinari
PF: Al Horford/Zion Williamson

I think also the fact that he and JaJuan spent 4 years at purdue may have hurt their draft status a little bit. I think teams maybe like getting players at a younger age. Fine with me, theyre more seasoned after 4 years.

well, i agree with folks above that judging moore's entire future in the nba based upon one scrimmage may be the definition of going out on a limb.  ;D

but what the heck, that is half the fun of cb.

moore looked good in the scrimmage. decent shot, smart decisions, and team defense looked adequate.

but one thing i did notice was that he is not a top nba athletic guard. he seemsed, at times, just a little slow. no great first step. and i watched avery bradley - our favorite celtic to hate right now - blow by him a couple of times.

he seems to lack the athleticism so prized in the nba and will have problems with a number of good players.

but even so, for a second round player i think he brings a number of good things to the table.

so, let's all hope for the best.  :)

I'm glad he looked good in the scrimmage.  Doc has also had some very positive things to say about him.  Either way, I feel like we'll need he or Bradley to be able to step up and play significant minutes at the two.  If we can get solid backup minutes out of one or both of those youngsters at the two and let Marquis or Sasha play their minutes at the three, I think we'll be O.K.

Remember that we were pretty darn good for the first half of last season with Marquis Daniels as our only backup small forward.
DKC Seventy-Sixers:

SG: C. Lee/B. Hield/T. Luwawu

PF:  E. Ilyasova/J. Jerebko/R. Christmas
C:    N. Vucevic/K. Olynyk/E. Davis/C. Jefferson

I also liked what I saw from Gilbert Brown (he hit a three, looked pretty smooth and comfortable.)

Avery Bradley looks the same way, to me, that Giddens, Pruitt and to some extent Walker looked. He hasn't been able to get into the flow of the game, he looks uncomfortable and doesn't have a good understand of what his role is.

E'Twaun Moore, 3J and Brown both looked promising though.

Moore looked really good indeed. What I liked most about him was his confidence, it's at a very high level and you rarely see that from rookie. I thought he looked more like a rookie whenever he was playing alongside Ray (giving him the ball everytime he was near him) but you could definitely see he was a different player when he didn't feel the need to defer to his "mentor" (i.e when Ray was not on the court, basically).

I think he can become a solid reserve this season.

Nope -- undersized and lacks explosive athleticism.

Doesn't sound like an NBA player to me. Euro-baller.

glen davis fits that description, and he's made a career for himself, so it's definitely possible.

i'll take below average athleticism and size coupled with confidence and comfort in a specialized role over explosiveness and size coupled with low basketball IQ and indecision any day.

after all, guys like giddens, walker, gerald green etc all have NBA size and athleticism, but they've never really made it, whereas players like Ryan Gomes find a way to stick in a team's rotation.
