I'm not sure where the concern for a go-to scorer off the bench comes from, we've never had one in the KG era. You can't miss what you never had.
True, but now that the Big Three is older and goes more often on scoring droughts, and since Rondo isn't a true scorer, we now have a need that we didn't have a few years ago.
That's a good point, the big three have certainly had some ugly droughts lately. Green is a nice player, but unfortunately a healthy Green would not have been a go to scorer either imo. We need Rondo to develop a decent jumper and stop fearing the free throw line to solve this problem.
Yes, I agree that ultimately the real problem lies with Rondo, he has to become a 70% or (ideally) 80% FT shooter and he also has to be agressive all the time.
But Green could have helped a lot I think, even if he is not a go to scorer. We badly need some player who can really create his own shot. Marquis can post-up and score almost everytime but he won't do it all the time, Bass is a good shooter and can finish in the paint but he isn't really a go to scorer either, etc.
