Good for the Clippers.  It's gonna be fun watching the CP3 to Blake Griffin connection.

PS:  Hope they beat the you know what out of the Lakers!

Heheehee Kobe p---ed off at Lakers management. This is looking better and better.

Clippers need to use their cap space to sign Kirelenko for 3 years 27 million and trade Bledsoe and Mo Williams for a back up big.
Chris Paul/Chauncey Billups
Caron Butler/Randy Foye
Andrei Kirelenko
Blake Griffin/Trey Thompkins
DeAndre Jordan/(Big for Williams and Bledsoe)

That's a legit contender.

Chris paul.

no guarantee the t-wolves pick will turn into any of those players you mentioned, and there's no guarantee any of those guys are stars.

No guarantees, but Minny isn't winning anytime soon.

and ill take chris paul over kaman, bledsoe, aminu, and irving.

You left Eric Gordon out of the equation.

basketball is about quality, not quantity, and chris paul is one of the best point guards of the past couple of decades.  when you can get a player like that on your team to pair with your superstar big man, you do it.  period, end of story.

True, but in Gordon, Irving and the Minny pick, we are potentially talking about 3 all-stars in a few years time.  Paul may be drinking Mai Tai's with Brandon Roy by then.

I was criticizing the Clips trade of Baron when it happened (you never trade an unprotected lotto pick).  I think my main point was I would also do the Paul trade if I got to keep Irving OR the Minny pick.  What they gave up in combining both trades was way too much in my opinion, and left them with a squad full of PGs.  A little foresight would've served them well.

I still think they will suck. Because that's not how it works. Griffin + Paul != Garnett + Allen + Pierce.

great logic, dude.

I don't want to see the Clippers do well. I want to see them fail continually as punishment for the way they've run their team over the past 20+ years.

Not happy to see Chris Paul go there.

right, because the Celtics were so well run during the 90s and a lot of the 2000s.
at least we would make the playoffs i dont remember the last time cliipers were there? and we had some bad luck

I can't wait to watch them.  Blake Griffin is a phenom and Chris Paul is a top 5 player.  You mix in Deandre Jordan and Caron Butler... it's going to be a heck of a team to watch.

They'll be fun and exciting don't think that will translate to a ton of  wins though. I am far from impressed with the roster a lot of flash and names and no substance. Paul andnames griffin will probably carry them to a low playoff seed tho.

I really really don't like the Butler contract now. (i didn't before, but even less after the CP3 trade).  Wasn't there a less ball-stopping, better defending complementary SF out there? I forget.

There were reports that Tayshaun Prince was the Clips first choice target but he turned them down. So they turned to Caron Butler as their second option.

I for one am not going to undersell Paul's affect on this team.

Look at the lack of talent on some of those Hornets teams that went to the playoffs...

Blake Griffin is a potential top 10 player in the league.

Jordan a potential top 10 Center.

They have real size and a pg capable of elevating players around him...

I think there is a real opportunity here for the Clips to be a top 4 team in the West.

Caron Butler is the X Factor for this team.  If he isn't healthy, I think they're going to be very average.

Paul-Butler-Griffin-Jordan is a helluva start tho

After splitting the championships in '08 and 2010 with the Lakers, wouldn't it be weird if somehow we get to the Finals in 2012 and face the LA... Clippers?  ;D
That would be something. But if we make it and aren't gassed, it would be a sweep.
