Think about it , all those back to backs, old legs and most likely injuries because of those old legs .

I say the C's go 44-22 at best , will clippers have a better record?

Just said this on another thread.  I'd say the odds are about 50-50.

I think you underrate the west. The Clippers will probably just miss the play-offs. They're an 8th seed at best... I hope  :-\

The Clippers are better then Denver, New Orleans, and Portland of last year. They will contend with Memphis for that 5 seed barring any major injuries.

^I agree.

Stil behind LA, okc, san antonio, and dallas.  After that I think they could make a run for 5th.  Sucks it had to be them cuz of our pick, but I'm still happier, than if he joined the lakers.

Hornets made the playoffs last year with a worse starting SF and PF, and arguably a worse starting SG, too.  Plus, it's not like Okafor is that much better than Deandre Jordan.

Keep in mind also that Chris Paul was working his way back from an injury last year, so he wasn't performing at his top level throughout the regular season.  It's possible that he might not get back to that level, but if he does, he could propel the Clippers even further than we might imagine.

In any case, the Clippers' roster should be good for the equivalent of 50-55 wins.

I expect the equivalent of around 50 wins from the Celtics, perhaps a bit less if they deal with injuries for a significant stretch.

Remains to be seen how they fill out their roster. By my count the team currently has six point guards on the payroll and just one rotation worthy front court player backing up Butler, Griffin and Jordan, the near to my heart 6-7 tweener forward Ryan Gomes.

Given the condescend schedule that doesn't spell great regular season success. But, yes, safe to say we're no longer discussing a late lottery pick.

If you would have told me this last year, I would have been depressed as hell.

So basically, we are rooting for either Chris Paul knee injuries or Blake Griffin to be struck by lightning...

or both

Don't forget, Del Negro is still their coach. That alone should cost them a few wins

I am hoping the Clippers get off to a slow start, the pick has trade value that Ainge takes advantage of during the season before the Clippers get it together.

Guys! This is NOT just a LAC pick:
---
In 2012, the Celtics would receive the lesser of the Clippers first-round pick or the T'Wolves' first-round pick (Marko Jaric trade)
---
 ;)

As long as it is outside the top 11.

Which pick is more likely to be outside the top 11?

I think the clips are going to be a lot worse than everyone expects. They have a bunch of new players shortened training camp and short season.

I mean people are worried about the C's chemistry and they be had the same core and coach for years

Which pick is more likely to be outside the top 11?

Plus, my guess is that the potential of that pick going to Boston was eliminated in their trade.

Since LA essentially got to choose which pick we got -- it was always the worse of the two -- they should be able to say "Never mind.  If that Twolves pick is actually worse than our original pick, we'll eat it".  The protection was in there for the Clippers benefit, not ours, so I'm sure it was struck out.
