lol Well from past convo's I'm totally aware faf that you're president of the "AI Hater club" But I still think it's a good pick up. Personally I don't understand the AI hate. As someone made an excellent point in the comments of the article.
 Why is AI supposedly old & Washed up , yet Grant hill (who is older,by the way and puts up less numbers than AI did) Is still a viable player who's a good fit for a veteran team. AI played with melo before, I don't recall there being any animosity between them in terms of the lockeroom.

Baron Davis looks the biggest key to NYC's playoff hopes this season.

Baron would be a very good upgrade for them in backcourt + Hard to see them doing any better than that given their lack of available money.

That is a good point. AI would be a great piece for a lot of contenders. But he is on Sterns Edited.  Profanity and masked profanity are against forum rules and may result in discipline. list. .Read between the lines. AI is not ever even mentioned by any NBA analyst, writer, coach etc. That is no possible unless they have been told to do so. Iverson is a Hall of Famer. They try to portray him as old and washed up, but there are players older producing less and are still very much a part of there teams. Iverson produced more in Detroit and the second Philly stint than Grant Hill has in his past 3 seasons yet he is valued and Iverson is washed up. They are scared to bring him up because they all know what that will bring. The refs would be bent on fixing all there games. Stern does not want AI around because it brings to much attention to all his BS.

He has enough trouble fixing the games to try to get LBJ a ring, adding Iverson would mean he would have to also fix the games so AI has no chance of winning. That is to much cover up.

Think about it. Detroit sat Iverson (4 time scoring champ, former MVP, perennial All Star, Lead his team to multiple playoff runs) on the bench for a player who had never proved himself. Low and behold Rodney Stuckeys last good game was when he played with Iverson, now the team is trying to get rid of him because they realize he sucks. This is the NBA they have scouts and specialist and they didn't realize that that behind his head jumpshot was never going to amount then more than 38% from the field. They did not notice that his only strength was driving to the basket and you can't when if that is all your point guard does. They did not notice that he doesn't pass the ball well, that he is not a better than average ball handler, or did they just use him to get rid of AI so they could use his $21 mil to lure LBJ. Yet everyone still points the finger at AI. Did they even think to start AI and RIP??? No because they never wanted Iverson to WIN! Now T Mac comes in and does not even half as good as Iverson does in Detroit and he is portayed as a hero?? Stuckey has been playing stinky for two seasons and fighting with his coaches but they would not dare mention it, because he was good enough to chase off a legend.

Point two Iverson was told no matter what he does he could never start in Memphis. So he plays three games comes off the bench and does stuff like this

Then low and behold Conley, who got the nod over a legend plays so well that OJ tells the coach he wants to play point so they can win, so he gets benched. Gets to the WCF and Conley goes 14 for 47, turns the ball over like crazy, his man scores on him at will, and he is the obvious weak link in the chain, they eventually have to find room to use Mayo and at the end of the game they say Conley ran the point guard position to perfection? If that is perfection then Sam Bowe was the best draft pick EVER!

Because AI's method of positively impacting his team is taking a lot of shots and scoring while dominating the ball.

Grant Hill is an all around efficient player who is a good ball mover, good passer, solid defender, and overall good teammate.

Plus being tall means you aren't as reliant on your quickness, AI's size limits him immensely now that he can now longer blow by everyone in the league.

When you're in your athletic prime, people will cover for you because you're that good. Once you're older (or aren't that talented to begin with) no one puts up with that crap.

AI played great next to Melo and nene in Denver.  I dont think AI has ever had an issue passing to people he thought could actually hit shots.  He becomes a disruption when he's playing with people he doesnt trust IMO.

Lol, I'm not going that far fafnir, I don't agree that there's a conspiracy to fix games to insure his failure, but I do agree that he is on Stern's Sh*&T list.
Bottomline I still think he's a good player and pending the circumstances of him being humbled and X'd out the league I truly feel he has shed the "i'm everything" ego. Much like the case with Marbury. (Also known as a ballhog, but now actually making his chinese team much better with passing) That's all. I'm not making a case for him to be in green but I feel he should be picked up by someone.
If for no other reason a terrible team can sign him to put butts in seats. ie what does Sacramento have to look forward to? They SUCK, matter of fact the city may be losing the team. Ticket sales are lacking. AI can be had for a pack of gum & a washing machine. Why not see how it goes? I think it's decent experiment. If it doesn't work out, CUT HIM!!

Why in the world do you think he's actually humbled? He said he'd come off the bench for Memphis, he lied.

He said he'd be fine in Philly as a backup, he lied there too. Why in the world would you believe he's suddenly become humble now?
