Perhaps Eric you should realize there is more to team sports than having the most talent? If you don't listen to coaches, aren't willing to come off the bench, and otherwise are disruptive people don't want to deal with you.

When you're in your athletic prime, people will cover for you because you're that good. Once you're older (or aren't that talented to begin with) no one puts up with that crap.

But hey if you want to tin-foil hat a conspiracy where Stern is rigging games just to get AI, you're too far gone to listen to any of us.

Lol, I'm not going that far fafnir, I don't agree that there's a conspiracy to fix games to insure his failure, but I do agree that he is on Stern's Sh*&T list.

Bottomline I still think he's a good player and pending the circumstances of him being humbled and X'd out the league I truly feel he has shed the "i'm everything" ego. Much like the case with Marbury. (Also known as a ballhog, but now actually making his chinese team much better with passing) That's all. I'm not making a case for him to be in green but I feel he should be picked up by someone.

Why in the world do you think he's actually humbled? He said he'd come off the bench for Memphis, he lied.

He said he'd be fine in Philly as a backup, he lied there too. Why in the world would you believe he's suddenly become humble now?

I quoted him cause I agree with respect to him being on stern's bad list. I really didn't focus on the "fixing" part. When I read his statement I was in agreement that there must be something more to him not being in the league. other than him being a "head case"

As for why I believe he's humbled. I don't know him personally I can't make that call definitively, it's just a hunch. Likewise you don't know him personally so you can't be 100% sure he's such a headcase and horrible person. From what he's been going through personally and all, I just can't imagine him being any other way. It'll be like antoine walker getting a shot. I'm sure with his financial issues, if AW got back in the league he'll be so grateful it's ridiculous.
  I will say with the memphis thing I was on AI's Side. Again from reports it was presented to him as if he was going to be given a chance to run the team just to be benched behind Conley? I'm sorry I see that as insulting. That'll be like If Kevin Garnett is traded to Bobcats but he was being benched and expected to play behind Kwame Brown. Excuse Me? I mean I get the fact that KG is getting up there but Kwame Brown? Call me a head case as well but I totally get his frustrations there. As with Detroit.... Seeing how they did Rip hamilton sort of dirty.. Can't say that maybe there is some issues with their front office. Maybe AI had a point when badmouthing them as well.

Allen Iverson — out of the NBA last season but trying to get back in — is interested in playing for the Celtics, his manger Gary Moore told the Boston Globe (via CSNNE.com).

For what it's worth anyway he has said he would like to play here and he is a big upgrade from who we signed as Rondo's backup in Dooling. I never got the heat on AI honestly. They say that he is a ball hog but yet he does have about 6 assists a game as an average for his career. Towards the end of his time in the NBA he had a higher APG than when he came in, so he adapted and passed the ball more. I see that some on here really don't like him but in my opinion he deserves, years from now, to be considered for the Hall Of Fame. I think for some reason Stern does not like him, but the question is will the NBA change how they see AI if and when Stern ever retires? He'd be a good fit here behind Rondo and can do laps around Dooling so why not try... Big 3's last year together? Pull out all the stops and lets get Banner 18.

After Marbury showed attitudes can be adjusted, I won't say anything is impossible. I don't think AI is the key to anyone's anything, but he probably still has enough offense to be a dynamic bench player. I just worry that he would have a hard time accepting DNP-CD games, which would happen.

Managing Rondo's attitude seems challenging enough.

On the bright side, with the condensed schedule, there won't be many practices for AI to miss!

I think Allen is just about ready for his closeup at this point.  I'm picturing him running around a half-lit court filled with mannequins wearing NBA jerseys.  Probably give an angry press conference to some stuffed animals around 2.

Key to frustrating Melo and Amare. 

Yeah, that would get pretty ugly. Those three guys fighting for shots.

AI played great next to Melo and nene in Denver.  I dont think AI has ever had an issue passing to people he thought could actually hit shots.  He becomes a disruption when he's playing with people he doesnt trust IMO.

They both got shots, but they were not helping each other.


Notice how much more effective the team became when they replace AI with Billups. 

This is a myth. A perfect storm happened when Billups went to Denver.

1.) Nene was back from injury.
2.) Nuggets added Chris Anderson
3.) JR Smith might have had the most "rightest" frame of mind and a career season.

The reason the Nuggets TEAM was better with Billups than with Iverson was because the Nuggets HAD A BETTER TEAM.

Yet the Billups led Nuggets only won 4 additional games.

AI stats his last full season with the Nuggets: 26ppg / 7apg / 2 stpg on 46% shooting...19 FGAs ---- 1.38 points per shot

Chauncey's stats his first season with Nuggets: 18ppg / 6apg/ 1.2 stpg on 42% shooting...12.5 FGAs ---- 1.42 points per shot

I'll take AI's play with high efficiency on higher volume any day over Billups.

Chauncey only wishes he could have had AI's career.
