What's Bledsoe's status? Just saw on twitter he is out for 1-2 months. Injury?

Clippers will need to keep Mo Williams to split time at PG with Chauncey (assuming he shows up).

Smart move by the Clippers. Wouldn't have been very smart to build a team around Chris Paul, Blake Griffin and DeAndre Jordan.

Patch work is DEFINITELY the way to go.

I think they're thinking is "Build around Griffin/Jordon/Gordon and Minny's 2012 #1 while having Chauncey and Butler be on the squad as they gain playoff experience."

No way does Chauncey play for the Clippers.

That squad has far too much to do to compete for title.

Riiight...So you really think that he's going to forfeit his 13-14 million dollar a year contract? I definitely doubt it.

I think Billups would only be on the hook for whatever the Clippers' winning bid is. The rest of the money will be owed to him by New York. So not $14mil but probably closer to $3-5mil or whatever their winning bid was.

I expect he'll sit out until the Clips agree to mutually terminate his contract.

I doubt that. The most logical outcome is that he loses the entire salary. This works like a trade. He sits out, he isn't paid at all.

The Clippers have matched Golden State's offer sheet for DeAndre Jordan, league source tells Y! Sports.

If you're right and it's the full $14 million, then yeah, the Clippers should be able to talk Billups into playing for them.

I just think it's silly. You're hoping players pan out, go for the proven commodity.

I'm kind of liking this new NBA. I've had enough of the prisoners running the asylum as the players have had way too much power lately.

Billups and his fellow players voted on this CBA, and this was a pretty well known provision. He should be aware this was a possibility, and shouldn't be so butt hurt that his former team actually used it and dumped him. Man up, Chauncey. Try not to slow Blake down too much this year and enjoy LA.

The counter-argument would be that Gordon *is* a proven commodity.  Gordon + Chauncey in a starting role are arguably as good as CP3 in that role, at least in the short term.  That leaves Kaman, Aminu, and the Twolves picks as bonuses for this year, and if they develop, fantastic.

CP3 is a great player, but it's arguable whether he's worth a young star, a solid center, two young guys with legit potential, and a potential high lottery pick.

I think the Clippers are doing the smart thing in telling the NBA to pound salt.  Ultimately, I think they'll get Paul at a lesser price.

Gordon + Chauncey in a starting role
Gotta love the shooting ability of that backcourt.

Mo Williams off the bench too, wow! Shooters galore.
