LOL @ the Lakers if this happens.

Also, you've got to believe the Clippers will be in the title hunt if this goes down...

Chris Paul, Blake Griffin, Mo Williams, Caron Butler, DeAndre Jordan, Ryan Gomes, Randy Foye. Plus more money to spend in free agency....

But then again it's the Clippers so Chris Paul and Blake Griffins ACL's will probably fall off the first practice.

I'll laugh at them if they lose out on Howard, but if they get Howard, then this means nothing.  I mean...They didnt really lose out on CP...It was their decision to stop going after him and focus on D12.  If they lose that, then they really lost.

Chris Paul is the first player in league history to request a trade to the clippers...

Interesting that it includes Gordon and the Minny pick.

I guess Paul agreed to exercise the option in his contract.
2023 Historical Draft - Brooklyn Nets - 9th pick

Bigs - Pau, Amar'e, Issel, McGinnis, Roundfield
Wings - Dantley, Bowen, J. Jackson
Guards - Cheeks, Petrovic, Buse, Rip

At first when I saw this I thought ' Wow, the Clippers are getting completely hosed here' by having to include Gordon.
But I guess they'll just be a bit thin at the 2 guard spot and make up for scoring with CP3.
They're looking nice, although Mo Williams will be super peeved about being a backup.
They could ship him out and get someone like Rip or even Jamal Crawford and they'd be looking really nasty.

Read that last line again. One more time.

man if i were a hornets fan I would be fuming.  from reports, the celts clearly had the best offer on the table.  there are so many things wrong with this whole trade process:

1) Boston had the best offer
2) Stern personally intervenes in a fairly reasonable trade, causing anger and embarrassment for the league
3) Chris paul gets to dictate where he wants to go/doesn't want to go.
4) The NBA, which is trying to make NOH an attractive buy for a potential bidder, is so incompetent it has to go with a horrible trade, bringing back NO superstars or real building blocks
5) Chris Paul, despite getting to pretty much choose where he wants to play (other than the lakers), chooses to play for the worst owner and biggest laughingstock franchise in professional sports, where he will likely wallow for years to come.

I guess he gets to play with Blake Griffin which will be fun to watch but I just don't ever see that franchise doing much.  who knows, maybe it will steal some thunder from the Lakers for a few years.

If they get both Gordon, Bledsoe and the T-Wolves pick, I think that is a good haul for rebuilding.

Yep.  That's a very good deal for the Hornets, in my opinion.  At the same time, it's a smart trade for the Clips, too.

overpaying, but the league will veto it,because it would seem they're biased against the lakers.
plus our clips pick would be worthless in a trade or if we got it it will be like any other player in the 20's.

Has anybody seen a report on how the trade rules currently work?  If the Celtics were to make a deal with the Clippers or the Hornets, would salaries have to be within 125% or 150%?  Does it matter if we're the team taking on more or less salary?

A JO-for-Kaman swap would make some sense for us, but I think salaries would have to be within 125%, which isn't really workable.  If it was 150%, we'd have a chance, at least.

My guess is, since we're the team taking on more salary, it needs to be within 125%.

This is a confusing report.  So, was Bledsoe in the deal or not?

Regardless, if the Clippers are including Gordon and the Wolves pick, it is the best deal that has been on the table, and the Hornets are being greedy if they kill the deal over Bledsoe.

The 125% and 150% has to do with the individual team taking the salary back.

So, if C's are over the tax line, they can take back only 125% of what they send out.

Doesn't make sense to have Bledsloe and Mo williams.

here is the latest, with the suggestion that Gordon IS NOT included in the trade.
Clippers just became a very good team if this goes through.

Eric Gordon isn't included in a revised Clippers-New Orleans deal for Chris Paul, league source tells Y! Sports.

i'm hoping it fails, and Gordon not included means the Clippers aren't serious about aqcuiring paul, league will veto it, which will make our clips pick more valuable.
