If they keep shooting down every team that comes a calling Boston might be the only dance partner left offering anything....

Of course they'd shoot down our package too I'm sure.

This stuff is really hard to get a read on.  There have been so many conflicting reports about everything here, I just don't know what to think.

Has anybody seen a report on how the trade rules currently work?  If the Celtics were to make a deal with the Clippers or the Hornets, would salaries have to be within 125% or 150%?  Does it matter if we're the team taking on more or less salary?

A JO-for-Kaman swap would make some sense for us, but I think salaries would have to be within 125%, which isn't really workable.  If it was 150%, we'd have a chance, at least.

My guess is, since we're the team taking on more salary, it needs to be within 125%.

im pretty sure the team taking on more has to be within 125%.  or maybe it depended on whether the team was under the cap or not?  in any case, i don't think we would be able to deal with 125%.

but id love it if it were possible to somehow swing a deal for kaman.

I would not mind this development, Dwight seems to be warming up to the idea of staying if the Magic make some moves (although it seems that Dwight is their only marketable asset).

I think it would be interesting if Paul could end up on the Magic with Dwight, but the Magic just do not have the pieces to get it done.

Hearing rumblings that league may have pulled out of CP deal

what . . . the . . . eff.

if this deal falls through, im not sure chris paul is going anywhere this season.  the league may have simply determined they aren't trading him until there's a new owner.  unbelievable.

And, folks: don't go nuts if there's conflicting info on deal out there. We all have sources we trust. This is happening in real time. Trades go back and forth. Not done until they're done--or until they collapse.

Just got word the Clips/CP3 trade is definitely off. Can only be revived if NBA bends on its super-steep asking price. This is I-N-S-A-N-E.

unfreaking believable.

what was the steep asking price? gordon, bledsoe, aminu, kaman, t-wolves pick, and what else?  if that's all they were asking, you do that deal.

stern is seriously killing this off-season.

I don't think the clippers are willing to give up Gordon/Beldsoe/Pick since CP3 might bail.

My guess is that they asked for the Pick and Gordon and were shot down.

And this is exactly what they should be doing.  Honestly, it is the only way to really save face, and its the best thing for the franchise at this point.

Of course, the key part of this is selling the team ASAP, so they can still trade Paul before the deadline.

And in the meantime, if a team absolutely blows them out of the water with an offer, then so be it, but short of that, just wait until you can take away the conflict of interest, and let the new owner decide whats best.
