I would consider trading for Millsap,he has a cap friendly contract for next year if we don't add more salary than that. We would still have tons of cap space left, and This move is like West but much better contract and younger player.

And since CP will be with the Clippers that Clips pick is not going to be that high so we trade JO,Johnson or Bradley with the Clips pick for Millsap.

Rondo/Dooling
Allen
Pierce/Green
Millsap/Bass
KG/Wilcox

Don't know if that would work.
But if it does, and they'd be willing to take a rookie (well basically 2 rookies) and an expiring overpaid guy on one knee.

Then hell yeah.

Read that last line again. One more time.

I think everyone on this site would rather have Big Al...

They all love him and miss him very much  :'(

JO, Bradley and a 1st would work.

Opens up time for the rookie big men and brings in a vet to work with them for one year.  (or Oneal could retire on them and they save money)

A long shot type of trade.

There is a 6 million difference the Celtics can not make up unless they give away one of the top 4 players.  (or Green if he agrees to when he can once again be traded)

I agree 100%. in earlier threads i bounced around trade ideas for less expensive Centers and was told that if other centers were available Al Jefferson must be too.

Guy makes $15 mill+. no way he comes here without another big 3 paycut.

Once Green is eligible to be traded again, a package of Green and Oneal is enough dollar wise to get Big Al.

I would love this trade if the C's could pull it off.  Millsap is a very good player, and would be an excellent fit playing next to KG, because he can handle bigger players in the post.

I would actually be more excited about a deal like this than the West deal.

Unfortunately, I don't think it would happen.  But we can dream.

Millsap had an amazing year offensively last year.  He's young (26), healthy, affordable and arguably the best player on the Jazz.

Sure he's a terrible fit with Big Al, but I think the Jazz are more eager to move Big Al for someone who can play the 5.

I do think we could add Big Al fairly easily.  Jeff Green and JO and a late 1st rounder would do the trick, IMHO.  Big Al would provide that extra scorer we've been missing, and KG would do a lot to mitigate his defensive weaknesses.  Playing off of the Big 3 and with a playmaker like Rondo would also keep him much closer to the basket, where his strengths shine.

Sign Kenyon Martin on his return from China, and you've got a very strong 2-way big rotation.  KG/Al/K-Mart/Bass with Wilcox providing big depth.

Big Al also allows you to postpone the free agency bonanza for a year, and re-up Ray and KG for one year deals.

I'm a clear-eyed, heartless GM when it comes to that stuff.
