  If not having a team wanting to take JO so the C's can get West, why don't they waive him. Unless they've already done that recently. West said he'd take less money to play here. That way we also don't have to give anything else up. Or is there an other technical reason why they can't do this?

  Unless there was a BIGGER piece of the puzzle we didn't know about that needs this to go threw.

You can't use amnesty on players you trade for.  If the Hornets cut JO, he'd still count against their cap, and they'd still have to pay him.

Makes no sense to waive a guy with one year left on his contract if you still aren't going to get under the cap. He can be part of a trade as filler or still potentially a great defensive center for us. I think we still have a use for him, but David West is an all-star talent we were willing to move him for.

You still have to pay the contract when you waive someone. Why would they agree to pay JO for nothing? West is a FA. There is no reason for NO to get involved unless they gain something.

Indiana/Denver/whatever team that will still be under the cap after free-agency get Jermaine O'Neal + JaJuan Johnson + $3 million + Cavaliers' second rounder.

If not enough, throw in next year's first.
