I haven't been this excited about a rookie in a long time. A 6'10 powerforward who runs like a gazelle, a shot blocker, has range, and remind of young Garnett. Ainge shouldn't include JJJ in any trade. I'm Glad David West trade rumors broke down.

I agree ... I've loved this kid since college, (along with E'Twaun), and was pumped when he fell to our pick. Definitely don't want him traded, and can't wait to see him hit the parquet in green ... this guy has a very bright professional career ahead of him, and I hope it's all as a Celtic, (and a Rondo-led offense).

The speed he possess for a big man is unreal. Rondo better keep up. yeah I think the roster is set. Small tweaks here and there, but nothing major. Same starting five as in the playoffs. And a fast, athletic, defensive minded bench to complement the startes.

nope... west is going to the Lakers with Chris Paul and Dwight Howard.

I thought you said West was going to the Lakers? ;)

Regardless, I hope he's not traded, and I'd rather throw in a Wilcox or Bass than trade away one of the most promising PFs of the future. We have to start rebuilding here, not just overload with forwards for the sake of a single season.

Agree, he has a lot of upside.  I would like West (not Delonte) but we need to look a bit beyond next year too.  We should have some cap space but who will want to come here for a rebuild?  Sounds like the Dwight plan won't work and lot of the new generation seem to pick their market.   I have not heard a lot of them saying I want to go to Boston.

I might be wrong but didn't KG say he wouldn't want to go to Boston either? Look at the way it turn out he is a celtic for life and loves this city now.

I think JJJ has a lot of athletic upside and could be a great role player behind KG. I'm not sure he can be a star but you don't always need stars to win a championship. Rondo, Green, and JJJ as the first part of the rebuilding stage doesn't sound bad to me at all. Add more role players and in a few years we could be to a good start.

Also Doc is a great coach I'm sure there's a lot of young players that want him as their coach.

Isn't West set to have a three year deal? He is only 31, which isn't young but young enough. He should help the first few years of the rebuilding process go smoothly. Then when his contract runs out JJJ would be ready to play and hopefully a little heavier

  • You ain't the boss of the freakin' bedclothes.
I made a promise after Bill Walker; never again will I buy the hype until we see some returns.

I don't know if its all the teams everywhere that do this, but this message board, and these fans just go ga-ga for the young fringe lotto players we've been getting since Al Jefferson.

Gerald Green, JR Giddens, Avery Bradley, Bill Walker, etc..

Jujuan can learn alot from KG.  Hopefully he's not a head case like the other recent picks.  Wait and see.

At the first sight, he reminds me of Taj Gibson. But he lacks Gibson's quickness, the footspeed and the rebounding ability. Better jump-shot though.

Maybe it's just me here, but if he has that range and he can handle the ball as well as he can, for a big...I see a possibility of him being Josh Smith like. He looks like he could play the 3, 4, and 5. He looks like a freak...I like the kid. Hopefully Doc lets him off the pine
