Dwight Howard has requested that the Orlando Magic trade him to the New Jersey Nets, league sources tell Y! Sports.

Orlando GM Otis Smith told @JoshuaBRobbins today that Howard has asked for a trade. Sources tell Y! Sports that request is for the Nets.

I'd take Bynum over Lopez. Injuries, free-agency and all.

What can the Nets offer besides Lopez?

Anthony Morrow, and that's about it.

Hell the C's could offer David West(if he ever gets here) Moore, and two first round picks for next year. Little bit better than what NJ was offering...And we'd have  a big man!

I guess we could, but then we'll also have to watch Howard walk away after the season.

Plus, Orlando would undoubtedly prefer Lopez to West.

MarShon Brooks.  Damion James.  Plenty of picks.  Sign and trade of Kris Humphries.

But New Jersey can take on Hedo Turkoglu's bad contract, and LA cant without giving crappy contracts back.  If Orlando wants a young center, picks, and a bit more financial flexibility, theyll trade with NJ.  If they want a young center and to be tied up with Hedo, theyll go LA.

The person familiar with Howard's thinking said the All-Star center still views L.A. as the best fit for his off-court pursuits.

Clearly, Howard also intrigued by possibility of teaming with Deron Williams in Brooklyn, where Nets move next season.

Not sure that I understand the quote about if Howard is happier, the magic get more assets?!?!?

After the Paul acquisition, the Fakers cupboard is bare. WHAT " more assets" are being referred to here.

And, as Roy (I think) said, Lopez, Morrow, Brooks, James, picks, and a S&T'd Humphries are FAR FAR more assets.

I don't understand the above referenced quote.

what about Rondo+Allen+KG+JJJ+picks for Howard+Turkoglu+Redick?

Billups
Turkoglu
Pierce
West
Howard

Next year

DWill
Redick
Pierce
West
Howard

Just to spend some time figuring futile trades

If this was to be the Celtics' plan, I think the Nets would push even harder for Dwight, if they had the slightest inkling that the Celtics were going after DWill as well.  DWill said hes 90% sure that he will stay with the nets, and that 10% is if they dont improve with another marquee player.  The Nets want Dwight, and by all means, Id much rather have them get him than the Lakers.

Howard is a clown.  I don't want him in Green and certainly not if we have to sell the farm.  Who says something like "LA would be better for my off court pursuits"?  Not someone who aspires to be a champion even in this "modern" era.  I don't care if the Lakers get him but I suspect he ends up in NJ.

Chris Paul is a winner and will help the lakers big time.  I predict that Kobe will end up hating Howard and he won't do any more for the lakers than Pau has done.
