so i wonder if la really traded odom to dallas for a trade exception or because his feelings were hurt?  odom seemed to be really ticked off, and never reached the practice floor in la, was told to wait

Mike Bresnahan - Lakers beat writer for LA Times - is calling it a salary dump.

huh?  could be, but when has jerry buss ever been concerned about salary

hurt feelings sounds likely

It was a salary dump so they can take back turkaglus contract with Dwight Howard.  Bummer...

Doesn't work. Hedo's contract is bigger than the Odom TE.

We're not gonna get CP3 out of this, so let's kill that right now. Our offer was Rondo + Jeff Green + 2 1st's. Since we just resigned Green, he can't be traded for awhile.

I think it comes down to Rondo vs. that TWolves pick that the Clips have and you are being too dismissive. I'm not really sold on the Clips youth outside of Gordon, and it still seems they are making him untouchable. Another thing is that DeAndre Jordan was rumored to NOH in the original discussions and is going to sign an offer sheet for 4/$40 with GSW tomorrow.

I'm being "dismissive" because I never wanted CP3 in green in the first place (he doesn't want to be a Celtic, so why drool over him?). And I'm just sick of this drama at this point - trade him to the Clippers so we can all move on and get back to talking about guys who are Celtics around here.

tp

my sentiments exactly

And KG didn't want to come to Boston either.

Good thing the Celtics listened to him there.

we weren't trading a player of rondo's ability and talent to get kg though.  al jeff was never and will never be as good as rondo

When we traded Al Jeff he was widely considered to be the next star in the league. So that just isn't true.

Honestly? He probably had more value than Rondo has right now.

well i never bought the hype about al jeff.  thats all it was, was hype.  he never actually produced on court to rondos level

Al Jefferson never produced on Rondo's level? Please take a look at his stats: http://www.nba.com/playerfile/al_jefferson/career_stats.html

Averaged a solid double-double for the past 5 seasons...

Can you explain what giving up Odom has 2 do w/Gasol/Bynum swap for D12?>>Nothing. Lakers telling LAT Odom is "straight salary dump."

Mr. and Mrs. Kardashian love LA to let "hurt feelings" come in the way.

Also, Jerry Buss has taken a back seat and his son is the one running the show.

see rahim morris for my take om stats

my point is al jeff has never had the impact on the game the way rondo has

which one has been an all-star?

we'll just have to agree to disagree

Just because you never believed it doesn't mean it wasn't true.

Al Jefferson hasn't been an all-star because he plays in the western conference where you have the likes of Dirk Nowitzki, Pau Gasol, Blake Griffin, and Kevin Durant. And if your argument about stats held any weight then Scalabrine would be the MVP of the league because he did nothing statistically but everything in the locker room and acted as a chemistry agent very effectively.

What if we go big time with this and bring in TWO other teams?

http://games.espn.go.com/nba/tradeMachine?tradeId=7ro6cv5

Philly wants to get rid of Iggy's contract now that they signed Thad Young long term.
Indy gets their PG they love.
Hornets get a very good player in Iggy, and Collison and Picks.
Celtics get their man.

for people saying paul will bolt....where? LAL is out, NYK is out,  Dallas won't have enough if they're getting Odom, atlanta can't pay, LAC might not afford it depending on if they resign jordon and gordon in the next year. Nets Thunder and Chicago have their PG's. Tell me where else Cp3 can go that is worth losing the money    he would get from bird rights. bring him in

And I think you have no clue.

But that is irrelevant. Al Jeff had plenty of value when he was traded. End of story.

Houston fans at Thedreamshake.com are very disappointed.

How in the world can you be happy with Scola + Martin + Patterson + Dragic + Knicks 2012 first for Pau Gasol??
