if we get cp3. and next year he leaves we are screwed pierce retires no ray allen or kg comin back all we have is jeff green and west:(

Actually, Jeff Green could very well be gone as well.

Basically, the Celtics would have a clean slate to rebuild.

I just want this all to be over. Can he just be traded somewhere already?

  • Boston Celtics= Championships, nothing less.
So we have an opportunity here to possibly secure both CP3 and David West.
The Lakers have pulled out of the trade:
http://basketball.realgm.com/wiretap/217344/Lakers_Pull_Out_Of_Chris_Paul_Trade

Do we roll the dice if we can guarantee David West is coming too?
Having West here is surely a much better chance of keeping CP3 around at end of season.

Move JO+JJJ+Etwaun+Rondo+2 picks (can't use Bass or Wilcox or Green now) for CP3 and David West?
I think we have to.
Either Danny goes for broke and goes back after CP3, or he waits and tries to lure in Howard somehow before signing West- so he can use West as part of a trade to get Howard.

This is going to be a crazy few days.
"We are lucky we have a very patient GM that isn't willing to settle for being good and coming close. He wants to win a championship and we have the potential to get there still with our roster and assets."

quoting 'Greg B' on RealGM after 2017 trade deadline.
Read that last line again. One more time.

Actually, I think this could take a lot longer now.

Teams threw out there best offers.  The offer NO wanted fell through.

Which helps the Celtics if they want Paul.

We're not gonna get CP3 out of this, so let's kill that right now. Our offer was Rondo + Jeff Green + 2 1st's. Since we just resigned Green, he can't be traded for awhile.

I think it comes down to Rondo vs. that TWolves pick that the Clips have and you are being too dismissive. I'm not really sold on the Clips youth outside of Gordon, and it still seems they are making him untouchable. Another thing is that DeAndre Jordan was rumored to NOH in the original discussions and is going to sign an offer sheet for 4/$40 with GSW tomorrow.

I'm being "dismissive" because I never wanted CP3 in green in the first place (he doesn't want to be a Celtic, so why drool over him?). And I'm just sick of this drama at this point - trade him to the Clippers so we can all move on and get back to talking about guys who are Celtics around here.

And KG didn't want to come to Boston either.

Good thing the Celtics listened to him there.

When we traded Al Jeff he was widely considered to be the next star in the league. So that just isn't true.

Honestly? He probably had more value than Rondo has right now.
