It's not hate, I love rajon too.

But i think it's reasonable to question trying to build a team around a defensive PG who shoots 50% from the Free Throw line.

Thats pretty much what we are left with now. I was all for the Paul trade because While i see Rondo as a dynamite 3rd piece on a championship team with two other scores, I think he is an awful, awful building block for a team in rebuilding mode.

Rajon Rondo is the end to a rebuilding process, not the start of it.

You can easily build around rondo theres a ton of talent that would play with this kid. cp3 would leave us any way and we be left with nothing. josh smith being one of them maybe rudy gay. rondo needs athleticism around him  players that want to run!

Let me know a playoffs series where rondo didnt show up. Hes a monster in the post season because he goes all out he runs regardless he just needs some wings that will do the same

So happy I don't have to get a new forum name.  

I've always loved Rondo, and still do. I believe he is a better fit with the 'Geriatric 3', I believe he is a better fit personality wise for this Boston market, and I believe that a competitive team can still be fielded around him.

Hear me out now. Maybe we won't get D12 now, or any other tier 1 superstar. But one guy that would love to play with Rondo is Josh Smith, his former high school teammate. Couldn't we get him? And how about OJ Mayo, who has already said there is no other point guard he would like to play with more. There are guys out there that will play with Rajon, and there is a style of basketball that will work: Up tempo, fast break, small ball type basketball.

Now D12 would be the perfect centerpiece to this fantasy team of mine, but that seems beyond optimistic. However, if they could find a long, athletic center in the mould of a Chandler, along with Jeff Greene at the 3, that is a potentially competitive team, assuming Jeff Greene can develop his game. By no means would we be favorites, but we would be right in the thick of things.

You can still build around Rondo and be successful.

It's not a good look what Ainge did, assuring Rondo he was "their guy" and then further pursuing the trade. Duffy could be steering future clients clear of Boston for while.

He played with that ALL year, i guess it only hit him hard after his best friend was traded, a move that multiple beat writers and former team mates (read: shaq) said soured him on the season.

If he's a professional it will motivate him to take his game to the next level. If he pouts and wants out then he isn't a long term piece anyway.

thank you. rondo sulked for weeks and it cost this team games, seeding and a lot. he is a great talent but a head case.

Exactly man. It didn't effect Pierce. Its part of the business.

And look at how quickly this situation developed. Danny had to be aggressive to the point of desperation in order to even have a chance.

In no way do I believe that reflects the organizations' feelings on Rondo, it just shows they do not view him as being on Paul's level.

That was different, that got to him because he was sad his friend was gone. This time he's not sad, he's mad. I've seen an angry Rondo play cp3 before and I'm in a strange way a little happy since now when we play the Lakers Rondo is gonna kill em.

Say what you want about his jumper (which is improved no matter what you guys want to believe). He was an awful shooter now he's an okay shooter. I just want him to get his ft percentage up to 70%.

He's never gonna be a great shooter but all that nonsense about teams leaving him at the end of games is just wrong. Do they leave him? Yes. Does it always work? No. He makes plays when they leave him, he hit some very important late game jumpers last season that everyone pretends never happened. Plus when they play off of him it leaves him to roam around and he makes plays that way. No it's not ideal but he's smart enough to make up for it.

I'm predicting he'll average over 15 ppg this season. I'm not saying that being a homer either. I think Doc will tell him they need him to score more this year and I think he will. Yes I would have liked CP3 although to this very minute I'm still not sure how I felt about it. I'm happy it didn't happen.

Rondo is cheaper and you CAN build around him. Put some athletic guys and shooters around him and he'll perform. They don't even have to be very good for him to be effective. Not to mention it's easier to sign other guys when he has such a reasonable contract.
