Lets just trade the whole team for Chris Paul

That's just too much for Chris Paul. He is certainly the best player in the trade and I wont debate that. But 2 1st round picks Jeff Green and Rondo?

The price is too high and it would be a mistake. Jeff Green and Rondo I could get over eventually. Add 2 firsts and I cant accept it. I want Rondo here anyways but if I could ever get over a trade it wouldn't include the 2 firsts.

One year rental for Chris Paul. Giving away the best piece we have in the future who's by the way, aside from shooting is toe to toe with Paul, stay's healthier (except for last season), bigger, quicker and a better defender oh and CHEAPER than Paul is. This is a big mistake.

We're not even sure if Chris Paul will get the big 3 to the top. And if reports of Jeff Green, ROndo and 2 1st was the offer, he's giving away too much. Heck that could probably land Dwight and Redick and that's a better deal.

Im really not liking what Danny has done. He's screwing the future of this team.

According to a person familiar with the discussions, the Celtics offered Rajon Rondo, two future first-round picks, and restricted free agent Jeff Green in a sign-and-trade for Paul.

Ok - I wouldn't be surprised if THIS rumor had some truth to it.

Ken Berger was one of the first folks who broke that the lockout was ending.

Everyone forgets all of the bad trades Ainge made before getting KG and Ray. He's made some pretty bad ones and then he's made those good ones. I think with his strategy of making very gutsy trades sometimes it works out really well and sometimes you're screwed.

Like I said in my post above this deal would be trading too much. I think the Clippers will get him with Aminu, Jordan, Bledsoe and a first though so I'm not too worried. I mean those are 3 young very talented players. It really all depends on what the Celtics could get a 3rd team to give up for Rondo.

I think that most of Danny's deals have been fairly neutral.  The one deal I would call bad -- the Antoine deal -- was a mistake because Danny took on a near-max long-term contract.  I think he's learned his lesson regarding financial flexibility.

yea bc bradley (who hasn't shown a single thing thus far), moore (who hasn't stepped foot on an nba court), and jeff green (decent player) are the whole team (other than rondo) and are worthy of comparrisons of bird, russell, etc.

I understand the point your making, but these guys i mentioned have yet to prove anything in green.  throwing them in with a pick and rondo for the near-consenus best pg in the nba is a steal for the celts.

Yeah Ken Berger doesn't really give bad information very often which is why I think that's the deal. I trust his info. Some guys just write what everyone else is saying but he usually waits and gives what his sources actually tell him. Or at least that's what I've seen from him.

Yeah, that's pretty much how I feel, too.  In an ideal world we'd maybe keep Green, or at the least Bradley, but if that offer is what is necessary to land Paul, I have no issue with it.

Considering the lack of depth on the this roster I get his point but I think the only significant players offered are Rondo and Green. I still think Bradley could end up being solid since he seems like a good kid and a hard worker. Moore almost wasn't drafted so it's safe to say he's not going to be a superstar.

My problem is those guys plus the draft pick. I think the actual deal is worse because it sounds like two first rounders instead of Bradley and Moore. I value the Clippers pick since it's likely to be a lottery pick so it's easy to make the argument that you are trading away 3 players of significant talent. If not 4 depending on if the late first rounder ended up working out.

Being that I don't think CP3 is actually a whole lot better than Rondo it's a bad deal. I will admit that CP3 is better but not Jeff Green, 1st rounder and a lottery pick better. Especially on a team with such little depth, the bench without Green starts looking really pathetic.

Well yeah I guess when you really think about it most were pretty neutral. I guess I was just thinking about the Antoine trade but let's not forget we got Jiri Welsch in that trade so it wasn't a total bust

That is a very good point. I still think they wouldn't be a top tier team though so it might be around pick 20. They would be in the mix but just not quite ready yet I don't think.

That kind of changes it to Rondo, Green and 2 late firsts which is more understandable. It's still pretty expensive but thinking of it that way it makes more sense. Unless the Warriors are the one's that end up with Paul. I have a lot of Rondo love so it would still be a tough pill to swallow.

My gut feeling says getting CP3 on the team will work out good, my only concern is that he stays healty. Which is out of anyones control...thats a concern for anybody that picks him up.

I think CP is more of Celtic than he knows. He is super intense and competitive, and I always seemed to think he was mad at his team mates for not hustling , he was always in their face. Well, with Doc , KG , PP, and Ray and Garden Crowd ...he 'll get all the BB intensity he can stand.

I think...he'll get caught up in Celtics style basketball , just like KG, PP and Ray  and a slew of others before them .
