Hi everyone. One of the best things about the lockout ending: Trade proposals!! ;D

Anyway, I think this trade could really add another 3 years (at least) to the Celtics championship run. This is a major blow-up but I think one that could really help out the C's BOTH in the short term and long term.

Also, it's pretty fair for Atlanta and OKC (I think.)

3way deal makes little sense as Josh Smith would want to play with Rondo...

And Dallas deal means KG plays Center next to Dirk? Not likely
Can't stop, Rondo!

geez dude, you've got an absolute mad-on to trade Garnett.

I'm not a fan of the original trade that was proposed but I at least get the fact we're getting 2 starters back in exchange for 2 starters.   This trade sends out one of our best players for a bunch of spare parts.  Stevenson isn't even signed.

Who plays PF for us--BD or JJJ?

Also, you've mentioned in other threads about trying to get rid of KG due to his contract.  How is picking up Hayward's contract for another 4 years and Brewer's contract for 2 years an improvement?  That locks up $10 mill more next year so kiss any shot at Dwight goodbye.

Not a deal I'd touch

Kevin Garnett for Brendan Haywood and a plethora of shooting guards who are all borderline NBA starters at best. No thank you.
DKC Seventy-Sixers:

SG: C. Lee/B. Hield/T. Luwawu
SF:  Giannis/J. Lamb/M. Kuzminskas
PF:  E. Ilyasova/J. Jerebko/R. Christmas
C:    N. Vucevic/K. Olynyk/E. Davis/C. Jefferson

I am not necessarily someone that wants to see KG shipped out (thought I certainly wasn't a fan of his stance during the lockout.) However, as a Celtics fan, I just don't think the big 3 have anything left in the tank. I hope I am wrong, but that's what I think.

So hence, at this point, I think our only two valuable trade assets are Rondo and KG's expring contract. That's why I figured we try to get some value now before the Celtics just let their title window completely vanish and get stuck in mediocraty for years ahead.

My original trade with Atlanta and OKC lands us 2 starters and 1 back up to compete for the short term and the long term.

that's what I was saying -- I at least understand the concept of what you're trying to accomplish.  the proposed trade after yours, not so much

I like it if for no other reason than it sticks Bron back in Cleveland and with a worse team.

I'm not sure how the C's get Semih back though.  It didn't mention a trade exception being used in the deal.

Don't like the first trade: Boston loses a disciplined passer (Rondo) and two disciplined defenders (Rondo & KG) and gets back a bunch of undisciplined gunners. Don't like the second trade, either: Boston loses its best defender and winds up with way too many shooting guards. As for trade #3: Funny, but besides not explaining how Boston gets Semih back (which, for the record, I would like), it exposes how bad Hollinger's system is: how in the world does adding Semih give Boston an extra 23 wins?
