I think Murphy should go to New York and play for Mike D'Antoni.

He'd be a nice stretch four sandwiched in between Amare and Carmelo Anthony. The Knicks big man rotation is very weak outside of Amare so there would be plenty of minutes available for him. He could easily get 30+ minutes a night there either as a starting PF or a backup combo big man (behind Turiaf/Amare).

With the Knicks uptempo offense and weak rebounders, he could put together (statistically) a very impressive season and use that to get another big contract the following the summer.

If I am Troy Murphy, under no circumstances would I consider returning to Boston. Not enough minutes available. I'd be looking for anyone that will give him close to 30 minutes a contest so that I can get my career back on track + earn another big contract before it's too late.

Glen Davis is a special athlete.  Not too many guys can choose to  play for two different sports professionally.
What is the other professional sport that Davis plays? Judging from his weight gain during last season I'm thinking his other professional sport was hotdog eating.

Mock all you want, but Yogi has a solid point here. For all the crap we give him, BBD is a pretty special athlete. His combination of size, strength, quickness, and coordination is incredibly rare.

The other sport was football.

When did Baby ever play professional football?

BTW the hotdog eating thing was a joke.

I've always been a supporter of Baby and think he's incredibly gifted as an athlete. Unfortunately, I think he's also a very selfish player, an immature person, and very undisciplined in the way that he keeps himself physically fit. I think he's probably worn out his welcome here in Boston.

We both know he never played professional football, but its a pretty good chance that he could've. He was a two-way star (at DE, where he probably would've ended up in college), and after his junior year was ranked as the 7th best football prospect in America or something.

Well, I think its pretty common for great athletes to choose between one of 2 or even 3 sports they could have chosen as a professional. Is there any doubt LeBron could have played football? How many NFL quarterbacks chose football over baseball because they were great pitchers?

I don't think because Baby had a choice in high school to pursue one of two sports that that proves he's some special athlete. I think that is probably a pretty common occurrence for professional athletes.

Well Rondo was a all-state QB or something as well. Who is that TE that was a crazy-good ball player? Jimmy Graham?

But being 6'9 and near 300 lbs with Baby's quickness and co-ordination is pretty darn rare. Like being 7'2 and 340 lbs with Shaq's quickness and footwork (when he was younger) is pretty darn rare.

Glen Davis is a pretty special athlete, he's not not a pretty special NBA caliber basketball player.
