Maybe Rondo should go play on the and1 tour ;D
Wake me up when he can shoot better than half his free throws.

Ah, yes. Free throw shooting (and outside shooting), the *only* way to judge point guards...

Or just ignore the fact that he cant shoot. Yes shooting free throws is a basic and necessary skill for a point guard.

Most high school points guards shoot better from the line than Rondo. Its a joke.

Yeah but most HS PG's don't rack up 29 points, 13 assists and 18 rebounds in a pretty important NBA playoff game.

36 Rebounds? By Jove, the C's had plenty of games where the entire team didn't get to 36 last season O_o

Wilt and Russ were rebounding monsters.

Faried was the only guy I was really interested in.
Philly:

Anderson Varejao    Tiago Splitter    Matt Bonner
David West    Kenyon Martin    Brad Miller
Andre Iguodala    Josh Childress    Marquis Daniels
Dwyane Wade    Leandro Barbosa
Kirk Hinrich    Toney Douglas   + the legendary Kevin McHale

any evidence that JaJuan kid is any good at catching alleyoops? Would be nice to see this in green jerseys, wouldn't it?
JJ will run, he can jump very high, and he has good hands...there's every reason to think he'll be able to make those sort of plays. So can Green, and KG, Pierce and Allen can too...sometimes. All that's going to be needed for that to happen is for the C's to actually RUN, RUN, RUN!  A line up of Rondo, West/Bradley, Green, JJ and KG/Baby could be a very dangerous running machine...and their defense wouldn't be too bad either.

OH, but...I'd still love for Danny to go get Faried. JJ can elevate, but not like Faried.

Triple J has a 38 inch vert according to draftexpress, more than Faried's 35 apparently.

Many High School PG's can probably shoot ft's better then Rondo but NO High School, NCAA and for that matter, most NBA PG's cannot dominate an NBA playoff series involving future HOFers, Pierce, Garnett, Allen and LeBron James as Rondo has already done.

He might not have the skills many here believe a PG should have but he also has certain skills rarely seen in a PG on any level.

He's far from a joke.

puzzling might be a better word

Is undoubtedly a uniquely talented guy, more than capable of taking over games at the highest level of competition, but his deficiencies can also make him prone to disappearing.

TP, ACF.

I can't recall an NBA PG that has posted those kind of numbers in a playoff game, either - except for maybe....Magic?

Quote
Rondo became the third player in playoff history to have at least 29 points, 18 rebounds and 13 assists according to the Elias Sports Bureau. Oscar Robertson had 32 points, 19 rebounds and 13 assists in 1963, and Wilt Chamberlain had 29 points, 36 rebounds and 13 assists in 1967.
Wow that's pretty nice company. To be mention with the Big O and Wilt as the only players in NBA history.

I seen them connect on 4-5 alley oops last week meaning Rondo and Faried in a live game.   I am excited to see our draft pick Johnson play with Rondo.   Johnson is a taller, has longer reach, better speed and a vertical three inches more than Faried at 38".   Should be fun to watch.

Rondo detractors don't take in account his basketball IQ which is off the scale sometimes.  He anticipates well on his passes and on D with steals.   I recall watching him as a rookie playing behind Telfair.   Some guys thought Telfair was better but I knew from summer league on that Rondo was a our PG of the future.  He might not shoot the best but he has a lot of the intagibles a PG needs.

so that's what Rondo can do with a team that runs and a young big man that can play above the rim?  and here I thought his game was limited to below the rim but that must be due to BBD's 2-inch vertical    ;)

I'd appreciate seeing him work on his shooting more instead of playing what are essentially pickup games against scrubs. At least KD, lebron, Wade etc are playing exhibitions against decent players now and then.  Wth is Alice lloyd college? lol
