TPs to all for the funny responses,  ;D

but I'm actually serious. It'd have to be for next year, but I think its silly when you think about how many of the 2nd rounders never make the fantasy teams they're drafted by.

Fine with me.

So, do you want Earl Clark for your 2013 second? Whoever you draft isn't going to make your roster anyway. ;)

I am now contractually bound to oppose this proposal.

But yeah, in all seriousness, I don't see any major need for the rule.  GC's arguments are well taken, but there's no reason why we can't sort through the confusion.  (And yes, there can be a fairly big difference between the 31st pick in the draft and the 37th pick).

I've done fairly well with 2nd rounders.

I'll be hiring myself out as a consultant during this year's draft, at the low, low price of 5 TPs an hour.

And to anybody else that doesn't care for second round picks, try getting Donatas (who I picked in the second round) from hpantazo. :D

Haha, yea, I won't even consider trading Donatas for a 2012 first, and he was a CB 2nd round pick, who I tried desperately to move up to draft but couldn't. Those late second rounders from two years ago look pretty good btw. Chase Budinger, Jonas Jerebko and Sam Young particularly.

Sam Young on the block packaged with MMSB's second rounder which has the potential to almost be as good as a late first rounder in a deep draft.

Bam, thank you thank you, turned him (with Aaron Brooks) into Joe Johnson which led to Dorrell Wright.  So don't be so dismissive of those second rounders.

*Cough* P.S. I do have 3 2nd rounders that will most probably be in the top ten of the round *cough*

That's how it's going to be? Okay, I'm also fine with the continued swap of 2nds if Hobbs here will volunteer to track them. Balls back in your court.

This is such a deep league that a handful of second round picks do contribute enough to be fantasy relevant every season. But I also wonder if most or all aren't at some point available off the wire? I know that's where I found both Jerebko and Young. And I won't even talk about Marcus Thornton.

So, you want to put a ban on swaps to make Lucky's job easier? Just trying to understand your POV.

Once again THE WW nails it...
(are we sure WW doesn't = wise (w)one not walker wiggle.)

FWIW, i think people are missing the point on what I said originally or goofin around/bustin chops bc there's still no real NBA news.

Actually BFM I think WW is being a but sarcastic here...again (Which he leads the league in; and which I treasure him for)

But Yes .... My initial point (which I think WW agreeing with) is that it's a pain for lucky or whoever to track "the lesser of three 2nd rounders" deals when those same GMs (and in fact most GMs) end up waiving (rightly or wrongly) many/most of those guys who do pan out as 2nd rounders.

Anything else we can ban to make Lucky's life easier?

Swapping picks is that hard?? Who knew.... :-\

So we should only swap picks if we are going to keep the players we draft ???...I don't understand some of the rules that you and TWW come up with...but if it gives you something to discuss, then by all means...keep discussing.

Unless the commish says that he has a problem with the swaps, I don't see anything wrong with it..he is the one who has to deal with all the trades after all. I see the swaps as an insurance policy...and attaching conditions to a pick is not unheard of...
