I personally do not want to see 1st rounders traded for future picks on draft day. The uncertainty of this year's league, plus the flakiness/turnover of GMs from year to year makes it a dangerous proposition, I think.

True, but is there any real difference between doing that on draft day, and making a trade for a future pick on the first day the league goes live?

Could be a matter of weeks or more than a month between our draft and cut down day/start of the season. A lot can happen in that time. At the very least, a better sense of projecting how teams will finish, and the value of 1st rounders.

Call it my version of the Stepien Rule.
