Realistically the ride is over. We have Jermaine and KG locked if there is a season this year. These guys are old. Older than dirt. One injury to either and we will be starting a Rook or someone off the scrap heap.Baby will not be back.

You cannot trade your starting center for Green and Krstic and then let Krstic walk. Terrible mistake by Doc to integrate him into the starting lineup and then sit him down for the playoffs. Krstic said as much himself before going to Russia.

Garnett and Jermaine cannot play 40 minutes a night. The age is there and it will be Shaq last year all over again. Even if we manage to somehow avoid any injuries it is within the realm of reason for us to finish 7th in the East behind

Chicago
Miami
Orlando
New York
Indiana
Atlanta

You should see who Danny signs before hitting the panic button. We're probably just as likely to win the title as finish 7th in the conference.

And how was it a mistake for Doc to start Krstic when JO and Shaq were injured? Maybe we should have started Wafer at center, or possibly played 4v5?

eh...the fact still remains that KG/PP/RA are still top50 players in the nba...and have an allstar point guard who is improving...you cant ever really count them out. and finishing behind indiana must be a joke. NY should be good but without defense im not scared of them.

depending on how danny builds the bench, we definitely have a shot at it. People need to dig deeper into our playoff loss this year, and we really had a horrible spell of bad luck with injuries which caused our starters to have to play Extended minutes...and to top it off, our PG disclocates his elbow pretty much spelling our doom.I mean we could be potentially be looking at a lineup next year of:

rondo/west/bradley
Ray/west/redd
PP/J.Green
KG/BBD/Johnson
JO/Kwame/(insert some Vet min center)

thats not really a bad lineup, and bar some injuries, we should be a competitive team once again. But as with everything, we will need to be healthy for the playoffs

Who is Danny going to sign? This year we dont have any flexibilty to sign anyone besides the MLle right?  You think we can get a impact player at the 4/5 spot for what we have available? Its not going to happen you will get someone like a Scott Pollard.

I think the mistake is fairly obvious. Krstic had been starting since the trade. He played well. Jermaine hadnt played mostly all year. Then Jermaine gets Krstics pt in the playoffs. Woulndt you be angry? Now he is gone. Just another one of Docs genius ideas.

Lol no. Its just reality. We have no bigs. If you trade Perk you have to lock up a 27year old Krstic.

Let's be honest, JO's playoff performance was about what we would've expected out of Perk.

As for KG, what's exactly wrong with him again?
Philly:

Anderson Varejao    Tiago Splitter    Matt Bonner
David West    Kenyon Martin    Brad Miller
Andre Iguodala    Josh Childress    Marquis Daniels
Dwyane Wade    Leandro Barbosa
Kirk Hinrich    Toney Douglas   + the legendary Kevin McHale

Finish 7th in the East that's a little stretch.  I don't think we are realistic contenders, but if everything goes perfectly anything can happen.  But finish 7th?  Please I think we'd be the 3 seed again.

As for the Perk trade, I don't think we would have beaten the Heat anyways.

  • Rondo doesn't believe in easy buckets...
Yes the ride is over. If your talking about improving the bench theres no point in arguing because you don't realize the problems with the starters. KG is only a star on one side of the floor, Pierce is a more efficient scorer, but he's a lot less explosive. Rays a shooter who needs others to create looks for him to really excel. Their all peices, but there's no real star to get this team over the top, I expected Rondo to step into that role but he hasn't. In this league you need stars to win and right now were lacking that.

However saying we're likely to finish 7th in the east is a huge stretch. The only teams in the east to worry about as of now are MIA, CHI, and NYK.

I think we have an impact player at the 4/5 spot. We also have impact players at the 1, 2 and 3 spots. We just need a hold the fort type of player.

Danny and Doc weren't just expecting JO back but Shaq as well. Krstic knew those guys were injured and coming back. If PP had been injured and came back would you be complaining because Doc gave Green's minutes to Paul? The whole thing's a little absurd.

Giving up the flexibility we have going forward in order to lock up Nenad is crazy.

Sitting Krstic was the right decision. The team couldn't handle his lack of rebounding and defense.
