The question that needs to be asked is, why is he in church anyway? I don't think he got the memo about Laker players being eternally [dang]ed. Someone needs to tell this guy he's wasting his time

Lol, I assume you're joking, but that's still pretty cold...

I kid, I really don't mind him all that much.
Back to wanting Joe fired.

Being that the thread starter is a lawyer, I find it ironic that he is calling Kobe a "knucklehead." He (Roy H.), of all people, should know of frivolous lawsuits and people trying to milk anything they can from someone with money.

If this was Perkins I wonder what people would be saying.

It was all excuses for Perk for his mishap, but now all hate for Kobe for his.  And I hate Kobe.

It's funny how our perception goes into these things.  Reading through that thread, the majority of posters seem to be critical of Perk's behavior.

The "knucklehead" series of dumb things players do in the off-season is going strong.  Kobe is the third entry, after Michael Beasley and Darius Miles (all repeat offenders for doing dumb / illegal things.)

Also, there wouldn't be a "frivolous" lawsuit in this case if Kobe didn't massively overreact and assault somebody at church.  You don't just get to grab people or their property in our society, nor should you be allowed to.  If Kobe gets sued, he brought it upon himself, by doing something really dumb.

Taking pictures of people at church is tacky and rude.  Assaulting (or battering) people -- i.e., touching them in an unwanted way -- is illegal, and really, really stupid when you're a celebrity.  I hope this costs Kobe tens of thousands in settlement / attorneys' fees.

If some random nobody, that you don't personally know, grabbed your wrist and snatched your cell phone, I bet you'd be singing a different tune.  Celebrities are people just like us and have to be held accountable for their actions, no matter how good of a reason they had, or how money-driven the plaintiff's intent is.
Philly:

Anderson Varejao    Tiago Splitter    Matt Bonner
David West    Kenyon Martin    Brad Miller
Andre Iguodala    Josh Childress    Marquis Daniels
Dwyane Wade    Leandro Barbosa
Kirk Hinrich    Toney Douglas   + the legendary Kevin McHale

Sure, it was a dumb move to snatch a cell phone from someones hand, but I'd hardly call it "assault." Going even further, so much of this is just speculation and accusation. I doubt the police will even bother to talk to Kobe.

Grabbing an item out of somebody's hand is classic common law battery, regardless of whether somebody was injured in the process.

Quote
Touching the person of someone is defined as including not only contacts with the body, but also with anything closely connected with the body, such as clothing or an item carried in the person's hand. For example, a battery may be committed by intentionally knocking a hat off someone's head or knocking a glass out of some-one's hand.

Kobe Bryant is, and always has been, a despicable human being.

Seriously who has their wife and kids waiting for them in the tunnel just to give them a kiss in front of the cameras. Total Faker

and at half time, no less.

Good thing we have reliable sources from true insiders about Kobe's character.

LOL...Some people just occupy themselves looking for a reason to hate this guy.

The hypocracy runs deep....Few, if anybody in here says anything about Garnett....A cheap shot artist who turns what should be a family experience into an R-rated event with his mouth.  People piled all over each other to rationalize Delonte's behavior...Or Perk's.  If Kobe wore green, he'd be defended with the same voracity.

Kobe loves his kids....So freaking what?  The guy's on the road for a lot of the regular season.  What's wrong about sharing a moment with his wife and kids when he's not?  Halftime or otherwise?

Get a grip.

Just gotta wonder why no other player in the history of professional sports that i've ever heard of has felt the need to have a hug-a-thon with their family at half-time of a game ?  they are all on the road a lot and that scene was simply nauseating.

Just my opinion, but I think at the heart of it all is that this is The Boston Celtics vs the Los Angeles Lakers....perhaps the deepest rivalry in all of sports.

Kobe Bryant will always be a villain to us all, even me - because of that.

Kobe wears the villain robe in this rivalry just as easily as Kareem, Worthy and Magic wore it back in the day.

Especially Magic - that man's "villain" counter went up significantly for me when he had the audacity to use Kareem's favorite shot to beat us at the buzzer in that one game - right over the outstretched hands of McHale and Chief.

How dare him >:( ;D?

But this could be BOS and LA's last shot to meet in June next season. IF there is a season - which IMO there will be one.

PR stunt. ;)

Oh without a doubt.. Ever since Eagle Colorado it's been one after the other. Guess there had to be with all the endorsement money on the line.
