Sure has been an interesting one...first Beasely, then Perk and now Kobe.

I'd hate to see what happens once the lockout is over.

Continuing our ongoing storyline:

Quote
San Diego police are investigating an allegation that Lakers star Kobe Bryant was involved in altercation with a man at local church, according to a news report by KCBS-TV Channel 2.

The incident occurred Sunday at St. Therese of Carmel Church in Carmel Valley, when Bryant allegedly grabbed a cellphone from the man who sustained an injury to his wrist, according to the report.

Bryant reportedly thought the man was taking photos of him and his wife but saw no photos after inspecting the phone.

Link.

Yeah, not the hugest deal in the world, but physically assaulting somebody at church is at least discussion worthy.

I doubt he did anything, i look at this as the other guy being a knucklehead.

I'm with Kobe on this one.  You grab a cell phone from a guy taking a picture (maybe not the most friendly way to do it) and then the guy goes to a hospital for a wrist injury?   ::) Sounds like a moneygrabber.

Granted I don't know the details but that's what it appears to be.

The question that needs to be asked is, why is he in church anyway? I don't think he got the memo about Laker players being eternally [dang]ed. Someone needs to tell this guy he's wasting his time
Back to wanting Joe fired.

**** - it's really only funny tho because he found out nothing was on his phone.  If he had found his pics on there, I'd call it justified

You're not allowed to grab at someone else just because they're doing something you don't like.  That's technically assault.

Lol, I assume you're joking, but that's still pretty cold...

That's true.  Kobe shouldn't have done it but this shouldn't have even been a story anyway.  A bit comical now that the guy's in the hospital treating his wrist.  Won't be surprised if a lawsuit's coming along soon.

If this was Perkins I wonder what people would be saying.

It was all excuses for Perk for his mishap, but now all hate for Kobe for his.  And I hate Kobe.

Kobe is a piece plain and simple. Ignore it at least until you are out if church. Lol I wonder if the priest stopped the sermon or ignored Kobe getting up randomly and stealing some nobody's phone? Lol I bet that was a pretty entertaining 5 seconds.

Kobe Bryant is, and always has been, a despicable human being.

Seriously who has their wife and kids waiting for them in the tunnel just to give them a kiss in front of the cameras. Total Faker

and at half time, no less.

Good thing we have reliable sources from true insiders about Kobe's character.

LOL...Some people just occupy themselves looking for a reason to hate this guy.

The hypocracy runs deep....Few, if anybody in here says anything about Garnett....A cheap shot artist who turns what should be a family experience into an R-rated event with his mouth.  People piled all over each other to rationalize Delonte's behavior...Or Perk's.  If Kobe wore green, he'd be defended with the same voracity.

Kobe loves his kids....So freaking what?  The guy's on the road for a lot of the regular season.  What's wrong about sharing a moment with his wife and kids when he's not?  Halftime or otherwise?

Get a grip.

cmon man, no one in the NBA has the their wife and kids waiting for them in the tunnel at halftime just to give them kisses in front of a camera(on national tv) . Of course I expect him to love his family and show them affection ,but he has done this many times in front of the camera , if you can't see that this is a "look at me I am a great father and husband" thing , I don't know what to tell you .

I have never seen any player in any sport routinely have their family waiting for them in the tunnel for kisses on Nationally Televised games.

The only time you see something like that from other players is for a major achievement like Ray Allen breaking the 3pt record last year

open your eyes !

It doesn't make him a horrible person, but its just the image he wants to portray as a loving husband and father and comes off as a show for the cameras

Who goes after somebody at church?  This really wasn't something he could just wait and handle in the parking lot?
Philly:

Anderson Varejao    Tiago Splitter    Matt Bonner
David West    Kenyon Martin    Brad Miller
Andre Iguodala    Josh Childress    Marquis Daniels
Dwyane Wade    Leandro Barbosa
Kirk Hinrich    Toney Douglas   + the legendary Kevin McHale

look, Kobe deserves to have charges against him.. He assaulted an innocent man. simple as that. As for privacy... It's Kobe Bryant we're talking about here... I'd take his picture too if i saw him at church! The funny thing is though was that the guy didn't even take any pictures of him... so Kobe is completely in the wrong. He must've had a bad day (since he's goin to church for the first time since.... ever) and just snapped at the guy for no reason. broken wrist? thats pretty physical Kobe... and just to be clear, im not just saying this as a celtic fan or as a kobe hater.. i never looked at the kendrick perkins situation as a mistake or nothing.. im just saying this as a person with morals.. something kobe obviosuly doesnt have..
