Celtics trade rondo & jeff green (s&t)for darren collisson & danny granger &

i thought of being really creative like rondo/jeff/BBD & 1st rounder plus cash or another pick  for collison/granger/hansborough

Hansborough is kind of another tweener and not a solid rebounder for a 6-9 kid but he can score a little.   Not much of an upgrade to BBD.

  • You ain't the boss of the freakin' bedclothes.
Considering that center is the only position we are less than above average at, I think its a poor, poor lateral movie.

i don't like it because collison only thrived in an up-tempo offense in NOH.  He will not mix well with our big 3 as Rondo has.  I also honestly don't think any blockbuster trade right now will be any good if we are to contend again with the same core because of chemistry issues.  These guys know each other so well and Doc's plays well too so that execution should be second nature.  That's something you just CAN"T trade for!

I think its an intriguing move if you love Granger.  Unfortunately, I am not sure Granger isn't just Jeff Green playing on a team that lets him shoot with no conscience.

Or perhaps a Jeff Green who is more aggressive with his shot. Which is an improvement, but not enough of one to move Rondo.

agreed especially after the lockout is lifted if ever it'll be too hard of a job to get those guys in to the system with the short window of free agnecy, trades etc. a major reason i dont think rondo will be traded this season

I wouldn't trade Rondo for anyone but Chris Paul... maybe Deron Williams. Nothing against Collison, he's a good player, but he's no Rondo.

Danny Granger is not Paul Pierce 2.0, he is not a good defender and I'd rather have Paul George than him in green.

Psycho T is clearly a downgrade from BBD. He has the same mental lapses on D, running late for the double team, i. e. but he's a worse rebounder, and his shot selection makes BBD AND Danny Granger look like Ray Ray and Larry Bird.

I don't think it's a good idea. If they could make something like S&T Green + BBD for Paul George + Josh McRoberts... not great, but at least they get a PF that can shoot and something out of the Perk trade via Jeff Green.

You don't move Rondo unless it's for a Superstar.

As much as I think Rondo for Granger is a pretty equal trade, it makes little sense to weaken the starting PG spot to strengthen the backup forward spot.

This is the type of trade to make if Pierce was traded for an all star level C.

Just not going to happen.

in my opinion we wouldnt weaken that much collison is just as quick from what i've seen he only 23 so vision can improve & should with doc coaching him & playing alon the big 3 offensivly he's better i know it wont happen though considering

& yeah the center position is the 1st postion to look at

Yeah, that is more likely.  Although we have never seen Jeff Green in a situation where he was really allowed to just attack.  He has spent his entire NBA career being asked to be a #3 (or lower) option.  While I think you are right that he isn't that type of player, I also don't think we can know for sure.

However, what I do feel confident about is that Granger is not good enough to lift his team.  He is a good player on a bad to mediocre team.  I don't think he is the type of guy you build a team around.
