Hello Peeps!!

Jeff Green+Big Baby+Picks 4 Andrea Bargnani

I'm not going to dwell on what he can't do. He is who he is. With an eye towards 2012 FA class mainly Dwight Howard, and also using the Mavericks formula to beating Miami Heat. Celtics can knock 2 birds with one stone by trading for Bargnani. Last Time Celtics had a long a stretch PF/C capable knocking down 3pointers (Rasheed Wallace) Celtics were in the Finals. Andrea Bargnani helps the Celtics contend this upcoming season adding size to the frontcourt, and he will complement Dwight nicely in the near future.

2012:
Rondo
??
Pierce
Bargnani
Dwight

We could be here all day discussing who he is, what he's done/hasn't done....but what I'll say is...interesting!!! BUT I don't think I want to get rid of Green, whenever basketball gets back up and running, if it's an 11-12 season....depending on how short it is, I don't think deals like this happen unless we essentially fall apart.....

I would LOVE having Barg, especially because I think he would up his defensive energy/at least try for rebounds, but his contract is a deal breaker for me. If there is something in the new CBA like "each team can restructure one contract" I would make a hard push for him. I wouldn't like giving up JG for him though. He is our SF of the future and counting on Pierce to start for a team where everyone else is entering their prime, it wouldn't go well.

well said, not having a serviceable backup/borderline starter like Green behind Pierce, it would be suicide

A 7-footer who is an inferior rebounder when compared to Glen Davis.  He's quite possibly both the worst defender in the NBA and the worst player receiving a decent number minutes.  Jeff Green is a better power forward than Andrea Bargnani.

This guy is under contact for 4 more years at around 10.5mm per year.

You can have 5 Andrea Bargnani's on your team and you wouldn't win anything.

Gotta be a "NO".

No thanks. He could be a great role player but definitely not a starter.

no thanks based on those initial terms.   maybe not on any terms.

talent-wise, maybe for BBD and a pick because he's offense and not much else.  contract-wise, he's a very bad financial package.

A late second-round pick is giving up to much for Bargnani.

I'm italian and you're absolutely right. He's got no defense, no heart, can't rebound... one of the most overrated player in history

I'm ambivolent when it comes to Andrea ... he had a great stat line with the Raptors last season: 21.4 PPG, 5.2 RPG, 1.8 APG, 0.5 SPG, 0.7 BPG, has an effeciency rating of +15.56, shoots the tres at .345, field-goals at .448, and is very good from the line for a big guy at .820, (these stats at around 36 MPG). At at least 7-foot, 250-pounds, he takes up a lot of space under the basket, but can also step back and nail jumpers from mid-to-long range. I personally like his skill-set much more than say Semih's, but I'm not sure how he would mesh with the C's chemistry-wise, and I wouldn't want to over-extend as far as expense in getting him here. There's a lot to this guy that's still a toss-up, but I'd be willing to try him for the right price.

If we get Bargs won't we no longer have the cap space for Howard? He makes like 12 million per year doesn't he?
