My Eastern Standings are:
1) Pacers
2) Phily
3) NY
4) Bulls
5) Nets
6) Miami
7) Washington
Orlando
9) Detroit - More talent then Boston but no consistent game changer
10) Boston - No go to guy
11) Milwaukee - No true PG
12) Atlanta - Not enough talent
Orlando
pg: CP3
sg: Jason Richardson
sf: Corey Maggette
pf: Brandon Bass
c: JaVale McGee
Miami
C - B Lopez
PF - JJ Hickson
SF - C Anthony
SG - E Turner
PG - D Harris
Washington
PG Raymond Felton
SG Landry Fields
SF Danny Granger
PF Lamarcus Aldridge
C Marcin Gortat.
These are the three teams I really see competing for the 6th, 7th, and 8th spots in the East.
My reasoning is that Orlando has the best PG and SG of the three but the worst SF, PF, and C of the three. CP3 gives them the edge though to get into the playoffs. Washington I see having the Worst PG and SG of the three, having the second best SF and C, and best PF of the 3. I think Miami has the second best PG, SG, and PF of the three, as well as the best SF and C of the these three. I am a fan of Karl as coach also. I think this order could be changed but I like these teams more then the four I left out. It was hard to leave out Detroit but when I see how they match up with Miami, Washington, and Orlando I just don't think they have enough. I like Horford but I don't think he can be the best player on a playoff team. I think Milwaukee will have chemistry woes with all those scorers and no true pg. Atlanta simply lacks talent.
Bullets have the best bench
The best front court.
The best fit of role players.
And no one else in the division has a PF tall enough and good enough to defend the pick and roll between Aldridge and Granger.
And no one in the division has a small forward that can contain Carmelo Anthony, or a defense that can keep up with the speed of the South Beach fast-break.
How do you fast break when you can not control the boards and thus, the pace. 4 of my starters average more then 5 rebounds a game.
And the difference between Granger and Melo is much less then the difference then the advantage my team has just about everywhere else.
Three of my starters average more than six rebounds a game, (6.0, 7.3, 8.7), one of my bench more than seven, and another more than ten.
My five starters and first complete rotation are also an average height of 6-8, 219 pounds. And when Melo gets it going, no one can stop him effectively.
Who on your bench averaged 10 rebounds a game in the NBA last year?
And how are you going to get Melo going on defense?
My starters rebounding: 10.9, 8.8, 5.4, and 6.4
off the bench: 5.5 (in 22 minutes a game)
My bench destroys your bench in terms of NBA experience and actual NBA production. Name one recent successful NBA team with that many rookies?
