  • I'm a Paul Heyman guy.
Anyone have a problem with Beasley as my starting SF?

Other than he's a pothead, I have none.

I like the Marcus Thorton pick a lot.

Washington Bullets  wdleehi
PF Lamarcus Aldridge
SF Danny Granger/ Shane Battier
C Marcin Gortat/ Ryan Anderson
SG Landry Fields
PG Raymond Felton

Head coach:  JVG

Weakness - need to fill out the back court.  Battier can defend most SGs.

Yeah the biggest problem I see is that a lot of the guys Battier would struggle with are the same guys Fields will struggle with.
What type of offensive players do both guys struggle with?

Quicker (and usually smaller) guards that can beat them off the dribble.

They're both more than adequate defenders against a very large majority of the league though.

That is where the "team defense" that JVG always puts in place comes into play.

I believe he's worth giving up Jamal. Still young and now becoming not just a prolific scorer, but an efficient one as well. Outside threat, can run, can create own shot. Fair defensively, not good but not mediocre. And boy he's clutch.

Yeah I don't think its a major concern. Plus, you can pickup a guy who can guard them in the 8th, no worries.

Its a really solid team. A reclamation project (Granger), and a lack of star power might hurt you in the voting, but it really shouldn't. Very solid rotation.

Who still averaged 20 points and 5.4 rebounds.

I will take that.

I really like the Bullets, as well.  I'm a believer in Granger, and Aldridge and Gortat are better than many think.  I think Washington is a clear division winner.

Yes

I realize he's better suited as a PF.

But he played the 3 quite a lot last year, and with the defense provided by Haslem and Noah behind him, I think he offers more to the lineup starting at SF.

He might, especially with Haslem hovering around the high post and baseline for jumpers and boards.

Of all of those lineups, I'd probably go with the first one as my primary lineup.  However, I also like the second one; Beasley wedged between Noah and Ariza makes up for a lot of his defensive deficiency.  Actually, the more I think of it, yeah, that second lineup is your best one.  Three scores, two defenders in the front court, lots of energy, etc.

I worry about the lack of shooting on the perimeter not allowing Amar'e and Bogut both room to operate.

I think the whole thing hinges on William's ability to play the SF at an NBA level
