I've down on Butler. He deserves more blame than he gets for those awful Wizards teams. He's become a ball stopper who over dribbles and forces the issue. And then in Dallas there were far too many nights where he shot the ball more than Nowitzki. His effeciency, rebounding rate and assist numbers have declined while his usage rate has increased.

He badly needs to begin playing within himself again.
I view him similarly.

However, Caron had started to do so before he went down with an injury. About a month, maybe a month and a half, of accepting his role and flourishing with the reduced responsibilities.

Whether he can repeat and maintain that next year is anyone's guess. I would lean slightly more to the skeptical side ... but it did look like he was finally getting it before he got injured.

I agree. Whenever people say "Chandler was the Mavs 2nd best", or "kidd", or Marion, really the Mavs lost their second best player when Butler went down.

And you knew it too. Whenever the Mavs were talking about possibly winning a chip, they'd say they wanted to win it for Caron. They knew what they were missing, even if we didn't.

He did started to flourish in the Mavs lineup before the injury. His FG% were up.

The big question is how would his performance be coming back after a serious injury.

That big question doesn't worry me. The guy's nickname is 'Tough Juice'.

You're right an awful November leading in to a strong December. But he was actually taking more shots (13.8 on 48% shooting versus 12.4 on 43% shooting) and more threes (2.9 versus 1.7) though not more free throws, and he was rebounding less than ever.

I'm tempted to suggest that he just got hot. But I didn't watch more than three Mavericks games during that stretch, so I'll take your more optimistic tack. He was a player I admired early in his career, so here's hoping.

Heading into the last day of drafting, I would like to consolidate several of my rotation players into one or two players.

If you are lacking in depth, consider sending me an offer.

Trade Announced:

NYK trades Mario Chalmers
ATL trades Reggie Williams

Love it for both teams. Fills a deeper need for ATL, but its a good player in return for NYK.

Also, ask Mike Conley how much he liked having Kyle Lowry as a backup.

It would be like Roth backing up Hagar.

That's funny, you'd think Roth would be the one in the playoffs hitting big shots. ;D

Jason Terry is still better then Caron.

Guys, just cuz I'm drowning in all these Mehmet Okur trade offers doesn't mean you have to stop sending them! I'll get back to you (eventually)!
