The Detroit Pistons select Samuel Dalembert but the word on the street is that he's going to Utah.
Not a big slammin' Sammy fan (until he comes to Boston next season), but the truth is he's one of the last starting caliber centers left.
I'm not a Dalembert fan either. Particularly after he couldn't hold down the starting job on a Sacramento team in need of defense.
And there is at least one center still available that I strongly prefer.
Cousins is just better and they wanted to develop him. They traded for him to get rid of Hawes and Nocioni and have an expiring. It's not like Dalembert is bad because Cousins is young with more talent.

I thought Dalembert outplayed Cousins by a large margin last season.
The Kings just didn't want to hurt their star rookie's playing time + development in the process. Which is fair enough and why I thought they should never have acquired Dalembert in the first place.
