Trade Announced:

CHI trades Mike Miller
SAC trades Zaza Pachulia

If we see 2008 Mike Miller (which a lot of fans still assume him to be), this is a steal for Sacramento.  If we see the Mike Miller of the last three seasons (the single digit scorer who hesitates to shoot even when wide open, and doesn't contribute much else) this is pretty much a wash.

As a guy who had to sell Mike Miller last year, and looked completely foolish in retrospect, I'm not buying him. 11 points per 40 minutes is a really poor number for a guy that has historically hovered around 17.5-19.

I think OKC gave up a great chance to rehab Ariza's image. I know I passed on him because playing next to Lowry, he was pretty bad offensively. I know playing next to Chris Paul he was pretty bad offensively.

But playing next to Kobe, he played well offensively. Not great, not spectacular, but pretty good 46% shooting well.

Wow. I told KC in the chat when I traded Ariza: he's close to locking up the 2011 "Celticsblog Draft Mo Williams Memorial Award for Least Desireable Player in a Starting Role".

That said, great job by Indiana.

this is about getting artest to reunite with JO watch out fans!
but seriously artest is a better 3point shooter and can defend like the best of the post and wing defense. could use it against pierce +jj

Very bad trade for OKC. Very good trade for Indy.

Ron Artest's decline over the past two seasons makes Ariza the superior talent. Especially for a team that intends to run the Triangle and know how much Artest has struggled within that offense for the past two years. In contrast to Ariza, who blossomed in it.

Trade Announced:

CHI trades Mike Miller

I thought M.Miller was a good piece for a Steve Nash led team and offered the Bulls more than Zaza. I think they made themselves worse here.

The Kings improved themselves. Zaza offered them extremely little. Mike Miller instantly becomes their best offensive wing off the bench. Now they can choose whether to go with defense (Singleton) or offense (Miller). I consider M.Miller is a big upgrade over Gary Neal because of his non-scoring contributions (rebounding, ball-handling, passing).

Boris Diaw as an undersized center is a real strength for the Kings (as a backup to T.Chandler). I hope they don't shy away from it. He offers them so much more than limited players like Zaza or Nazr.
