Just to clarify, the Celtics are not holding a firesale, you'd have to send us players in return for our players.

The teams that jump out at me after three rounds are:

(1) The LeBron squad
(2) Nash and Kobe
(3) KWhit's JJ, Bosh and Nene trio

So, with contraction and the "modified snake", I think we may have finally undercut the "superstar factor".  There are so many good teams that I don't think that having Lebron or Howard is going to guarantee anything once the playoffs come around.
I'm not so sure, contraction will help the teams with MVP caliber players immensely when they fill out their rosters.

This was my first thought too. I guess the voting will tell. I am biased towards the thirty team draft just because its such a rare bird. Also, because I'm having the most fun prospecting in the late rounds.

It is worth noting that although we got off to a rough start with three missed picks in the first half of the first round, we haven't yet lost a GM. So that's worked out. On the other hand, a few quality community members did get turned away in the end.

I'd agree with putting Denver's trio on the inside track along side Champkind's Nowitzki led Warriors team.

In many ways I'd prefer a 30 team draft as well. But given our last two years I don't think we have enough participants for it.

On the other hand, a few quality community members did get turned away in the end.
Given that we had to orchestrate a PR campaign to fill out the last slots this doesn't ring true to me.

Anyone who really wanted to play, and was in good standing for the draft, has a team.

Some really great picks again today, and the talent is spread around well. Everyone seems to be putting a lot of thought into chemistry and balance, (at least as much as is possible after three picks). Wish I could be around for more of the festivities throughout the day, but the hospitals are hopping the last couple of days, (not just ours) ... good summer weather usually spells a lot of trauma cases, believe it or not. TP to Indeed for his hard work. Hope to be on later! :)

I prefer 30 too but my sense is that somewhere between 24 & 30 is the "juuussst righhht" number. I assume/think we could go back up to 26 or 28 next year with a couple people back in (roy, etc) and a new person or 2 signing up. (

I also assume that the forums are less lively this year b/c of the lockout (and therefore no summer league, etc.)

But the draft is still terrific and it will be great to see how the rest shakes out!!!

I'm a big fan.  A lot depends on Kaman's health, but I really like that squad.

Once again we had to wage a PR campaign this year and the last two years to fill things out. Then we also had multiple abandoned franchises. I'd rather have a smaller league with 100% active GMs. Plus from personal experience it sucks to deal with finding new owners for things in mid-draft.

If and when we have 26, or 28 people sign up for the 24 team league without us PMing and advertising the heck out of the draft I'd reconsider things.

If we could get 30 reliable posters, we would do 30.  Trust me.

The problem is that we've regularly tabbed 5-6 posters that are anxious to play in the beginning then disappear and leave us with abandoned teams.  It blows, therefore, 24 this year.

If we had 30 interested/active posters, I'd still prefer the 24. I think the contraction is really leveling this thing out. Even w/ all the 'veteran experience' I think you have 6 more teams and you're looking at a whole different game.
