Sign and trade Jeff Green for Pietrus and Robin Lopez! I don't care what the salaries are, use black magic if you have to.

I'd be a big fan of that trade.

I would love to get Pietrus.  That guy can defend.  The Magic used him a lot on LeBron in the '09 ECF.

Eh...worth a small contract.
Note that Pietrus is still under contract with Phoenix for another year, so it is not possible to "sign" Pietrus.  Hence the discussion of the trades....

Quote
Four months after the Celtics could have used his services — and possibly avoided trading Kendrick Perkins for Jeff Green — Suns swingman Mickael Pietrus is claiming the C’s are interested in him, according to French newspaper L’Équipe (via HoopsHype).

Phoenix didn’t use me, but that’s their problem. I’m going to continue working. The only thing I care about is winning a title. … A lot of teams are interested in me, like the Lakers or the Celtics. This came from the best player in the world: Kobe Bryant. He told me two months ago that he would like to see me with the Lakers.

Didn't Pietrus just exercise the option on his contract?

If he's so desperate to get out of Phoenix, why did he decide to stick around? (Yeah, I know: money.)

Sign and trade Davis for Pietrus. Since he expires in 2012 he would be a perfect addition...

pietrus would be pretty good to have off the bench, but we need a center

Pretty sure Ainge refrains from using black magic on religious grounds.

Would require Davis to be signed to a deal starting around $8.5 million for such a trade to work under the old CBA that just expired.

Danggit, that also means he won't get the Phoenix gm drunk.

That idea, on the other hand, shows promise. Danny could buy the gm drinks and refuse to imbibe without raising suspicion.

I think he is a bit pricey when you look at his stats but he does offer a lot of intangibles (not the Scal type either)  ;D

If we could get him, re-sign West, and bring back Daniels I would be pretty pleased with are back up Guard situation.

I forgot, Davis would be BYC player if that happened, right...so there is basically no chance to make a small trade like that with team over the cap or without a third team involved...

This guy does have skills, but somehow all teams he's been on end up "not using him". And he's been on some good teams. No way I'm trading Jeff Green for him, with or without Lopez.
