CP3 is great. But the chances of trading 1/2 of the Big 4 for CP3 and D12 is highly unlikely. Maybe Dwight has talked to mgmt in Orlando and they know he'll pull a "Melo" and force a trade.
Everyone wants to play with Rondo b/c of his willingness to pass. Josh Smith loves Rondo. Dwight loves Josh Smith. Here's a top of the head type trade

KG,Jeff Green, Bradley plus a draft picks to Orlando for Dwight and Turk

Ray,BBD,JO and a draft pick to ATL for Josh Smith and Hinrich

Rondo      Nelson     Teague
JRSmith    Arenas     JoeJohnson/Ray
Pierce     JGreen     JGreen
JSmith     KG         Horford/BBD
Dwight     Orton      JOneal

Boston's bench would have Turkoglu,Hinrich,West, and JuJohnson.
And with the MLE exists, JRSmith would be an ideal target, or even Jamal Crawford. OR KG and/or Ray gets bought out and comes back.

Orlando's side isn't as appealing unless we make it a 3 team monster deal where ATL gives them a draft pick as well. But we do take on Turks nasty contract(Arenas is unmovable)
Atlanta gets more out of the trade than they could with most other teams. They need a center to allow Horford to play his natural PF position. They shed Hinrich's contract while still getting talent back in return.
Can't stop, Rondo!

I don't think either Atlanta or Orlando would do their deal.  Other teams would likely offer more attractive packages.

Tried to be somewhat logical. Just know that us landing CP3 AND D12 would have to be some sort of preplanned phenomenon like what LBJ,Wade, and Bosh made X amount of years ago.

KG and Ray Ray (and maybe a couple of other players) for DH.  That's the only deal that makes sense.

TP for the effort.

I like how you are thinking of the Josh Smith and Dwight Howard connection, and I think obtaining Smith is more realistic than CP3.  I like the recent spate of 3 team trades (e.g.: Jeff's on the main page), as these are akin to the trade for KG.

It'll be interesting to see the route Danny goes.  A lot depends on (a) the new CBA and (b) how the Celtics are playing to start this next season.

If they look so-so, I think Danny works on making a couple big trades using KG and Ray.  On the other hand, if the Cs are looking good, and on top of that it is a shortened (but not condensed) season, then I think Danny plays out this current string to see if there's one more championship run, then works on figuring out the next step in the offseason.

I guess the hardest thing I have with all the proposed trades is how they don't quite fit.  Here's some of my thinking:

(a) I don't see how Atlanta gives up Smith for Ray, its got to be KG, given their needs.  PP won't work for ATL bc of his longer contract.  But I feel like Smith will only thrive in Boston if KG is around to discipline him.

(b) I don't see how Boston can get Howard in a trade unless it also takes on Arenas, which would hamstring Boston for years.  Boston just doesn't have enough to give back to Orlando to make it worth it for Orlando.

(c) I don't see how Boston can get CP3 without giving up Rondo, which would then reduce the likelihood of landing Howard (either via another trade or via FA).
