Convince Me That Another Team Wants Glen Davis

You don't even need to mention sign-and-trade scenarios.  Just give me an argument that another team would want to target Big Baby as a free agent worth more than the minimum salary for more than one year.

You must do better than Bleacher Report, which gives the top five teams that could use Glen Davis as Charlotte, New Orleans, Denver, San Antonio, and Boston.  Specifically, you must be less ludicrous than the claim that Chris Paul and Glen Davis could form a "dominant offensive duo" for the Hornets or that BBD can serve as Tim Duncan's heir apparent for the Spurs.

EDIT: So far, the only idea I can come up with in my mind is that David Kahn really is that stupid and wants yet another power forward to add to his collection, one with the veteran experience that he is supposedly looking to add.

I do think Charlotte could be interested, especially if they have difficulties resolving Biyombo's buyout with his Spanish League team.

Diaw won't be with the team much longer (nearly traded last year). Davis is close friends with Tyrus Thomas. Charlotte could give Davis minutes, and should have cap space.

Boston could S&T Davis to Charlotte, and agree to take back an expiring contract like Najera, or another contract like Matt Carroll. This would help preserve Charlotte's cap space yet allow them to add to their rotation a young veteran with significant playoff experience in Davis.

Not a compelling argument perhaps, but a plausible scenario.

Yea, no kidding. That's where his skillset lies if he is going to play like he did in the playoffs on a consistent basis. This guy let us down in a major way. Definite NBA talent that caught a weird grip of delirium.

Its not like he won't be in the NBA next year. I don't want him starting on the Celtics, but he was an instrumental guy for us over the past few years and was probably the 6th man of the year for the first 2.5 months of this year. At 3mm, virtually every team would take a chance on him for that number. I'm as frustrated with this guy as anyone, but let's not go nuts and pretend he's not an asset. Did he suck from Feb 1 - June 1? Oh man, he was terrible. But you are still talking about a young big who put in quality playoff/Finals minutes the last few years.

Three things he did the past 4mths:
1. Cost us a shot at the title as we counted on him to be a scoring threat in the past, and he was terrible.
2. Cost us a huge sign and trade asset going into the offseason.
3. Cost himself $10mm.

Interesting idea; probably the most plausible of any I've seen.
I could see Danny taking back Najera's contract, bc there is only one year left, but nothing more than that, unnless he's given a sweetener (ie a 2nd rounder).

Veteran's minimum? He's cost himself millions, but  he won't be playing for the vet's minimum next year. At the very least, we'd likely take him back for more than that. People forget to quickly how good he was for us earlier this year.

Dallas: No. They have Shawn Marion.
Miami: No. They have Udonis Haslem.

Memphis: Yes. He should be an upgrade over Darrell Arthur.
Atlanta: If they trade Josh Smith, then yes.
LA Lakers: If they trade two bigs for Dwight Howard, then yes.

 I believe his options will be few if any of the kind for money/role he is looking for. I don't know that anyone is going to give the C's anything of value for him.  I kind of hope that doesn't mean he is back in Boston because we have other bench guys who are fully capable of scoring but when/if he is in the game they don't see the basketball because he is a black hole.

One team that might possible want him is the Maine Red Claws.  I don't know that he'll get the minutes he wants though.

It's amazing to see how far Glen Davis has fallen in the past 6 months.

It wasn't that long ago that many posters here + analysts in the media thought Glen Davis was a Sixth Man of the Year of the candidate.

Now people need to be convinced that he'll be offered more than a minimum contract in free agency? Shocking fall from grace for Glen Davis.
