I don't think the C's are that far off - they just need enough bodies to ward off the eventual injuries that may(will) happen.

If they can get to the playoffs with the starting 5 intact and healthy, and they have at least one bench 5 who can play 15 minutes of second unit ball, they'll be fine.  There's going to be a LOT of KG at the 5 next year, especially in the playoffs.

Plan B: MLE to Landry, LLE to Gray, vet.min to Redd

Rondo/West/Bradley
Allen/West/Redd/Moore
Pierce/Green/Redd/Vafer
Garnett/Landry/Johnson
O'Neal/Gray/Johnson

This seems likely and not that bad
you may be able to get redd for the vet min, landry will be looking for a mle type deal. (if baby can get that then landry certainly can.)
i just don't want to go into next season with aaron gray as out back up center.
rather commit to  jjj at the 4 behind kg and jg and spend the full mle on dalembert or (imd) d jordan.

assuming the mle or similar exist next season

here's what i got:

rondo/west/bradley
allen/parker/wafer
pierce/green/pavlovic
kg/martin/JJJ
oneal/kwame/b.wallace

the pickings are really slim out there for the c's at big man. i dont think there are any big men (that are realistic options- so no nene/chandler/etc) worth giving the full mle out there so the c's are just gonna have do with splitting it, using the lle, their trade exceptions, and vet min contracts to fill out the roster. i figured martin, kwame, and wallace are more defensive oriented so considering the team defense concept, i thought they would be a good fit.

well as there no stand out center the celtics can realistically attain i think well have to have our center position filled by comitte

Rondo//west//bradley
pierce/allen/redd
green/pierce
garnet/landry/green/JJJ
grey/j.o/ben wallace/kwame brown

we'd be lucky to get landry or dalemburt for the full MLE so i didnt put dalemburt becuase i feel he's going to go to MIA

we have a 2.3 mill exception maybe we can take j.thompson off sac hands? who knows

also guys like m.redd are intresting instead of marquis

but all in all the season depends on the growth of rondo ,

Interesting roster examples in the thread for next season, but a 2nd unit lineup of Rondo, DWest, Jeff,  and JJ will absolutely run some teams out of the gym if they can gel fast enough.

In the post draft interviews Doc or Danny talked about adding a vet via trade after (if) the CBA gets sorted out. who would you target with say a BBD/Marquise TPE (if that's possible)?

I think we need to get at LEAST 2 more players who can play C.

Rondo/West(6)/Arroyo(1)
Allen/Bradley/Wafer(2)
Pierce/Green(3)
KG/Davis(4)/Johnson
JO/Murphy(5)/Kenyon Martin(7)/Greg Smith(8 )

That's my realistic looking roster:
-(1),(2),(5), (6) all depend on signing for Early Bird contracts to help fill out the roster; Murphy depends on health.
-(3) depends on Green signing for reasonable money, about 3-5.5 mil per year average. More than that, let him walk.
-(4) depends on Davis signing for 3-4.5 mil per year
-(7) depends on Kenyon signing a short, partial MLE or Vet min deal for a contender.
-(8 ) I like Smith as an undrafted FA to try to develop in the d-league for a bit. Great size + rebounding.

Other things i would like:
-Davis S+T for McRoberts S+T plus Rush
-look for Craig Smith or Carl Landry on partial MLE/Vet min deals
-Consider Kwame Brown on Vet money as an extra rebounder/defender
-If Mike Dunleavy or Tayshon prince would join us for short
vet/partial MLE money to be on a contender, consider S+T Green to a team looking for a ready SF: Utah (for Millsap), Cleveland (for Verejao/Sessions), LAC (for Kaman), Toronto (for Ed Davis/filler)

Edit:
So, Semi realistically, My ideal would be:

Rondo/Sessions/West
Ray/Bradley/Rush/E'Twaun Moore
Pierce/Tayshaun or Dunleavy
KG/McRoberts/Johnson
JO/Verejao/Greg Smith

Prince or Dunleavy MLE
Davis for McRoberts/Rush
Green+wafer/murphy for filler for Verejao/Sessions

Okay, so I have :

Rondo, West
Ray Allen, JR Smith, Bradley
Paul Pierce, Jeff Green
KG, JJ, Leon Powe
Jermaine, Chuck Hayes, Kurt Thomas/Ben Wallace

I want Avery Bradley to have an improved role next season, and be a solid 10 minute guy. We sign JR Smith to some of the MLE (Hopefully it will exsist), and sign Chuck Hayes with the other part of it. Offer Powe the minimum, and if he won't accept it,  bring a 3rd/4th string bench warmer. We will have Jujuan Johnson playing a significant role this season, 10-15 minutes a game. Increase it if he gets better. Have Jermaine/Hayes play PF when KG and JJ are resting. Resign Jeff Green and have him take a bunch of Ray's minutes, as well as the Truth. Rondo is Rondo, and have West play Rondo's rest minutes alone(very little 2 guard action). Sign Kurt Thomas or Ben Wallace to the minimum, or the MLE if we still have it. I know it's a long shot to get them, but it's realistic if they want to win a championship. If not, try signing Darko Milicic, Kwame Brown, or Theo Ratliff.

Ben Wallace retired.

Trade BBD and a pick to Sactown for Jason Thompson and Quis
Resign Delonte, and Murphy to vet min plus bonus
MidLvlExp on Michael Redd
BiAnnualExp on Kurt Thomas or Ben Wallace

Rondo,Ray,Pierce,KG,JO
West,Redd,Green,JJ,Thompson
Bradley,EMoore,Quis,Murphy,KThomas/BWallace

Starting 5 stays in tact, playing the Big 3 and JO 25 mpg during regular season.
Redd helps JGreen by taking off some of the offensive load. Jajuan Johnson and Thompson can share time at PF and let Kurt or Ben play backup C to stay in game shape.
4 ball handlers, 6 bigs, and 3 legit wings

1 last run at a ring, then next year starting 5 could be Rondo,Redd,Green,JuJohnson,Thompson
Can't stop, Rondo!
